anyone know this car? DFW I was looking through craigslist and I saw this and have been talking with the owner. anyone have any information on this car? hes in the DFW area.
If I can just sell my car this is the one i was thinking about, but almost seems too good to be true. he says theres a right rear ABS sensor out and i think thats all that i know, should be an easy fix nothing major.

thanks, but with the way people are shrugging off my car before looking at it or not being able to get financing its not looking very good.
I love those style headlights but these just look out of place, I may have to paint the housing the flat lemans blue color but I might just keep them I dont know.
and the rims are no longer on the car, he sold them and now it has the stock 08 star pattern split spokes (yuck)

definitely, I was wondering if anyone knew him from the area. the price is super low compared to the other z06s for sale and its nicely modded so im very skeptical. once i sell my car (hopefully tomorrow) ill contact this guy again and get serious about researching/looking at the car. on the cars defense my camaro only had 45k when i bought it and the interior was pretty well used.

Dude... that car cannot be a 45K car... Also, it is NOT a Commemorative Edition.. Not all 04 C5Z's are the CE cars... you can tell by the front emblem. the Forged stars are actually a nice wheel.. cleaned up they look very nice. those look to be the F14's.. The HL are the Ebay (Depo) Frog eye's... horrible IMO.... If you are truly interested in that car, go over it w a fine tooth comb... a lot of the C5's in general were plagued with little electrical gremlins.. Have the guy run a code search in the DIC for you to show all of the current/history codes that are stored in the ECM... C5Z's are great cars but do't just fall for the first one you find... I agree with the others, those seats look bad! Perhaps the guy is a construction worker and drives it out to the site everyday... If you are serious about a C5... go to the corvette Forum, register there and go through the C5 F/S section.. there is my .02... and it's free... Good Luck!

It has been up for sale for a long time now, not sure if it is the matte or the car just isnt super clean? Texas Hot Rides has some z06's right now that are clean! They do financing and all. That is where I got mine!

thanks, yeah im definitely going over it with a fine tooth comb. it was listed for almost 20k but he sold the wheels and now it only has those split spoke wheels from the 08 vettes.
ive been looking for a while and this has caught my eye, im definitely running a vin check on it as soon as i get the check for my car so i dont waste this vettes owners time.
He has said the window motor on the drivers side is slow, and the right rear ABS sensor is bad (i did some research and found it could be a bad connection, apparently a typical problem) but like you guys say, im going to be very skeptical of it. ive got a few that caught my eye but if this thing seems legit Z with those miles on it i may pick it up.
I think the couple problems with the ABS light (ive got a code reader to ensure thats what it is) the headlights and custom paint, i think this car appeals to a very select crowd so maybe thats why it hasnt sold. ill fill you in once i take a look. also the fact that its probably hard to get it to pass TX insepctions with the cats out (im just going to register it in IL since im MIL)
side note is carfax free or do i have to pay the $25 (no problem) or whatever it is. or is there a free one?

I was actually considering trading my Saab for that Vette. Owner is a car dealer. The carfax pulls up a mileage inconsistency. I have reason to believe that it actually has twice the mileage shown on the cluster. It also has been wrecked before but won't show up on carfax. The front body lines dont match up at all. I found some pics of it before being repainted the matte blue. The good news is that the work done on the engine was done by a member on here and I'm sure he did a good job.
I ended up passing up on the trade once I ran the carfax tho.

Yup, no way thats a 45k mile seat unless the owner weighed 450lbs and drove the car 10 miles at a time.
I would say most likely ended up that way due to a wreck.

pass on the vette. you have already given multiple reasons as to why you are skeptical of getting it in the first place. why are you still trying convince yourself to continue to look at it?
for the money, I agree with everyone else, there are much cleaner vettes to set your sights on. good luck!
