I have a vibration I'm not happy about after swapping in a C5 diff using a custom bracket but I checked it out and nothing's "wrong", it's just transmitting more NVH than I'd like. So I just need to go do some test hits ala Street Outlaws. So it won't be long.

He got drug by the orange Z06 in the videos above. That orange Z06 was cam-only, and trapped low 130s at the time.

C6Z's making 580-600 rwhp only trap in the mid-130s, typically.

143 mph = nitrous pass. It is a fast car, no doubt. But please don't believe the BS.

When him and l ran l was on a nitrous tune with a 35~ HP loss from the new upgrades that did not work out as planed. The track run was @ 604 rwhp

Quit making excuses for losing. And stop with the BS about trapping 143 on motor. You forget that some of us owned C6Z's that made around 600 rwhp like you claim yours did. Here is what my own car trapped with 619 rwhp.

Mid-130s at 619 rwhp. I'm not sure if you realize this, but 9 mph difference in trap speed is a lot of power difference.

A couple of guys I know went from boosted mustangs to c6 z

And they both goin high 130s and low 140s with similar power to you.


One is a d1 on 5.5 lbs and one is a head cam intake car.

And like I said mine with cam and milled heads trapped 132 with 2 broken pistons.

I pulled apart motor to change valves springs and seals and realized that my smoking issue and lack of performance was my pistons were broke above the top rings

 

A guy I know in LA has 142mph slips with a stock 427 I bought his heads for my new build.

Good job at scouring the net to find the best examples on the planet for Z06 drag racing. Here is a hint, hellraiser isn't in that group. Please refer to orange Z06 dragging him, which was making about 530? rwhp at the time, and trapping low 130s at the time.

If he truly trapped 143 on motor, there would be bozos searching the net and posting links about his accomplishments to prove other people wrong on other car forums. He'd be a recognized internet hero racer by now.

It is easier to just tell the truth, broski. You sprayed that 143 run. Your POF engine doesn't make enough power to trap 143 on motor alone. Not everyone is that naive here. I was probably running 10s NA when you were riding your huffy.

Normally, I'd agree with Tony on the rwhp typically needed to run X mph at X weight..... But I have seen quite a few NA cars that run/trap way better then what they should for the rwhp they produce....albeit weight or power application...

I could see 143 mph at 3100lbs race weight with 650 rwhp maybe......

Most average, full weight C5/C6s at 3500lbs raceweight need 750 rwhp to run 140-142 mph.

Weight is a big deal.... I went 9.96@149 mph at around 840 rwhp which is pretty shitty mph for 840rwhp. Dynoed at G Force the week before the track trip. This was at 3535lbs... I'm a pretty terrible driver though lifting completely on every shift.


Either Hellraiser's car makes more then what I would guess a 440" would make (600-625 rwhp) or that car is well under 3300lb raceweight.....that if it ran 143 NA anyway.

I agree Tony. I've seen Bronco's car run, it runs damn good...Keeps up with a lot of cars it shouldn't, especially for 530rwhp... I think his mid 130 traps are inline for 530hp. That's a full weight car with a decent driver.. Hell my Z06 stock with the blower only went 133-134 mph and it dynoed 604rwhp around that time...Not very impressive but it was what it was.

To break 140 mph, a head/cam Z06 either makes more then 650-700rwhp or some serious weight reduction.

I would think a 440" "could" trap 140+ if everything is right but.... that's typically not the case... The video doesn't lie... Bronco gave him fits...

Most cars, especially power adder cars, never run the mph to show their "dyno" hp.... Cars making 1000rwhp should trap 160 mph.... Most I see are lucky to break 150...

I recently ran mine with my "840rwhp" tune up, but this time with an automatic and about +200lbs, and I trapped 145-146 mph but was blowing driving thru the converter too much.. 11.5% slip. Having a new converter built now... I'm hoping to trap 150mph at "840rwhp-M6" at a heavy 3600+lbs now at the TI rental. If it does, it still wont match the efficiency of the other cars posted in this thread...

This conversation could be a whole lot shorter if Chihuahellraiser would just man up and admit he sprayed on that pass. Still an impressive run, and a fast car.
