Default TBI Tuners in DFW????

Well I have an in-law that wants to cam his 1991 silverado with a 350. I tried and tried to have him do an LS swap but he wants to keep his TBI. What kind of performance is out there for it and who can do an actual tune for these? He is looking to do a cam, heads and intake setup thanks.

If its original truck FI then its TBI. TPI only cam factory in late 3rd gen Z28 Camaros and late 80's-92ish corvettes IIRC. Good luck with the cam in the TBI, been down that road in the late 90's in high school and I will never mess with another TBI.

This. I had a boss at the dealership I worked at mod a 350 TBI in his truck. All the techs worked to find someone to "tune it", burn a chip, etc forever. He finally sold the motor and just stuck a stock 350 back. I guarantee he could have swapped and LS about 5 times and had less headaches.

Might have to order a prom (chip) and install it yourself. Its really easy. Its what I did years ago with my cammed TBI Camaro.

i tried this when i was younger, i was not impressed with the results. 383 tbi with big block injectors, vortec tbi intake with ported vortec heads, cam, and exhaust including long tubes. all this was on a reg cab short bed 93 chevy. back in the day i had jet burn me a chip based off of specs. the truck ran well, but i know that it would have really picked up had i made it carb'd. truck went 13.50's on slicks.

If it's a tpi Henderson performance will tune it, I should be taking mine real soon. If it's a tbi he may or may not but you would have to follow up with him, no one really touches obd1, he's located in new bruanfels tx.

TPI or TBI would be a waste of time period. They were good on milage and lasted forever cause they never made any real power. Leave it stock and go on.
