GM ignition switch issue? Why else would a kid lose control and drive a car like this into a pool? I'm assuming he was driving like the responsible young adult he must be.

Everything electronic and mechanical toast from water ingestion. If you could have drained motor and all fluids day it happened it would be savable but from time insurance co settles and gets it till car clears auction gavel is 1,2,3 mos and it will be junk by then. Everything electronic was junk second it hit water.

Im almost done rebuilding a '99 C5 Corvette that was flooded over a year ago. Since GM uses rubber weatherproof seals on the connectors, most of the electronics still function flawlessly, Including the PCM and gauge cluster.

Yes sir. You would be amazed what a little hard work can do in a case like this. Someone could very possibly be driving this beast again very soon. Good luck to all involved. I hope a valuable lesson was learned here, but probably not. I will give them $500 for it site unseen.
