Budget vs Reputable Tinting
Summer is almost upon us, and the memories of scorched cheeks from last summer still haunt me. What's a reputable place in the DFW area to get a tint job done? I've seen various offerings on Groupon ranging from $60-$140, promising 3m tint and warranties. Is this a legitimate option? On a student's budget, of course. I and my backside thank you.

Well it's been a few years so I can't recall exact prices but I can say that Lone Star Window Tinting in Hurst did an excellent job on mine around 2 and half years ago, especially on the rear hatch area. Would definitely use them again and I do remember the price being reasonable too.

Just don't go cheap on the film itself. Get something that claims high percentage of UV and infrared blockage. Dark tint doesn't matter much if it's letting a lot of heat through anyway. Light tint made with the right material can block more heat than cheap dark tink.

Sun Solutions in Haltom City is a great company. He has done 4 of my cars and has never given me a problem with a warranty or the film being bad. I haven't had a warranty issue but he does cover his work. For my crew cab trucks it was $125 for all windows and the eyebrow/visor. He also only charges $20-40 to take the old tint off. He will also do Mobile tinting for a small fee as well.

I've got the Llumar ceramic tint on my wife's Infiniti and won't ever go with another cheap basic tint. It's a night and day difference between basic tint and this Llumar ceramic tint. Paid 225 I believe a year ago at Glacier Tint in Arlington. Comes with nationwide warranty as we'll for any authorized Llumar dealer.

When I got rid of my Bullitt roller.
It had tint on it that was about 8 years old and was about the only thing that held up. Lol
Paint looked like ****, interior was beat up, the tint that I paid 200 dollars or whatever for, from a guy that does tint at a dealer was still in great shape.
So I would say pay for it once and it will probably last as long as you have the car.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Cheap tint is the last thing I want, since my old V6 had it and the entire hatch was impossible to see out of, haha. While on the subject, since I have a convertible should I just opt for the side windows to be tinted?
