Default Back on the road

Got the tranny rebuilt, heading to Victoria today to get Pat G tune and found me a set of these. I'm keeping this mullet mobile alive!

Century. And I am now on the side of 59 waiting on triple A. Something just blew in the transmission.

It has a one year warranty from Century on it so I'm gonna have it towed over there tomorrow. I was doing 65, heard a loud bang in the back and then got off accelerator and coasted to the exit. I parked looked around didn't see anything unusual. Rpms shot up to about 3k like it kicked out of overdrive and I just coasted in the gas station. Has a real loud chatter in reverse and will not move at all in reverse.

Get a LS3 C6 for around the same price as a C5 Z06. It's a nicer car, faster, responds better to mods, quieter inside, no front air brakes at night(pop-up headlights), plus you can throw on OEM wide fenders if you want to run 345 rears and 285 fronts.

I say this all the time and I fee like someone always gets upset or get their feelings hurt over it.

The c6 is a much nicer car than a c5.

A c5 Is probably more similar to fbody in comfort and features than it is to a c6..

Pretty much. I could not stand the interior of the C5, it is like getting into a 90s S10. C6 isn't the best interior, it doesn't hold a candle to the C7 interior, but it is FAR better than the C5. And the C6 is much more comfortable for cruising on the highway.

Such is the history of Corvettes since their creation. As it should be.

I would never compare fbody to a c5.. Go drive a c5 then jump straight into a fboat.. Night and day diff.

Yes c5 are outdated.. But that's obvious.

Go test drive each and see what fits your needs best.

If you can find a 99/00 FRC that would be a nice step up if you don't feel like spending arm and leg for z06/c6.

I was speaking of the constant improvements. Corvette has always been developed as bang for buck first. As the folks at GM keep finding ways to make it one bad mother while finding ways to keep it somewhat affordable it improves.

Sorry to hear bout the trans again. Damn good looking car tho. I have always wanted the Arctic white ss. It was my dream car and then I settled for my huggar orange 00 ss. Started it's life pewter and now it's the huggar clone. Good looking and all but nothing like those arctic whites

I didn't want my SS to be red, but everything else was what I wanted. Wondering if reprinting the hugger orange would be too much of a pain. The black cowl toned it down allot.
