Default DFW 6L80E rebuild

I did a search but for some reason I came up with very little for the first time ever here.

I will be needing a rebuild. Shop put in my Yank, after a few miles they heard a loud pop and no more movement.

Pump failed? I keep hearing they installed the converter incorrectly. I don't know, I wasn't there. But I am pretty sure the trans will need some work now.

What are my options in the Dallas area? Wicked D. Pheonix. These are what I remember from years ago.

I have used Jake before, and would use him again.

I already looked. They don't list the 6l80. Aces doesn't do them.

Call Jake. Just bcause he doesn't list them doesn't mean he doesn't build them.....

He might be to busy with 4l80s but worth a try.

Wicked D's has my vote. Built my Transmissions in my racecar and never had a problem with it.

I used to work for Jake, highly doubt he'd dick with a 6L80E to be quite honest. Way too much margin for error due to tuning despite how well (or not) that it's built.

Exactly if they don't advertise it, most don't. And honestly I don't have the patience level to deal with any more issues with this car.

Just take it down to Century and let Mike do it. That's gonna be your best bet if you want it to live.

That or find you another stock, low mileage take out trans and just throw it in there.

Just slap a 6L90E, if you want to build one be ready to drop $3-6k
Becareful who you let tune your trans. I've been running one track only with no issues going on 2yrs now. Not too mention I pushed over 800rwhp on a Denali truck with zero issues.
Anyone can rebuild one average $2,500 or so. Doesn't mean it'll last. Buddy sold his car after 4 rebuilds from 2 different shops in DFW touched them.

I went with futral. They know the g8 platform and are overall a good shop. They have a good tuner, as do I. They insist on tuning for their warranty purposes. I'll speak with them about Pat adjusting it in the future to my needs as they don't do remote tuning.
