Default Need some help - North Houston

Howdy boys and girls,

Before I potentially tear down this motor I need some knowledgeable guys to stop by and listen to it. It is a former L76 but has since had DOD delete/Cam/converter for over 25k miles and she runs great with one exception...the strange tap every 2-4 seconds.

Doesn't sound like a lifter but honestly I am stumped and just need someone to stop by. This poor car sits gathering dust (2 months now) while I am left to ponder my ignorance.

Any takers? FM 1488/2978 area.

Payment in beverage of your choice

Thanks - getting frustrated.

Not near me. Does the ticking speed up with rpm or is it constant every 2-4 secs?

Lifters are funny, one could still be going out but not stuck yet. Oil pressure good?

It is not directly related to the RPMs as if it were valves. Here is a video:

Don't recall checking oil pressure. Will do so when I get home.
