I don't see how they plan on it working. The permits needed. The facility not wanting to have rubber all over the parking lot. At the last one I went to they had during the day all the drivers where complaining about it. If they plan to do it during the night isn't there a sound ordanace in that area? I don't think it is going to work

Permits where pulled. The permits where for a car show from what I have seen and someone made a test hit at the spot and was reported which In turn made them check the permits and when they saw that is wasn't a correct permit it was pulled

Permits got pulled by the city....or were never issued. Some serious racing went on at that spot that night and all week before. Fast cars ...Boosted GT was there and got Drugg by Turbo Ls Stang Black Jesus. Muttley Stang got drug by Mean Green Camaro. Many other races. This race WILL be street racing for a decent amount of money. Big Tire, Small tire, and new class called Street Car. I think the parking lot is asphalt so it will be interesting and a premium on hooking your car up on that surface. The city of Houston does NOT give permits for controlled street racing events. They do give permits for car shows. This race will be in a parking lot and not a city street so they have no say in it. They race inside NRG and now they will race outside NRG. If you pay there price and obtain imsurance as they have it can be done. They have already said no motorcycle class because the insurance carrier will not cover bikes. Safety gear is required in the cars. There are not many options to race for good money out there especially in a Law enforcement friendly venue. Ive been to all of the Dig Night races and they havent been the smoothest or best run shows but this venue will be more fan friendly and surely they have learned from past mistakes. It will be packed I am sure. The shutdown length is said to be 1800 feet. Thats plenty for anything. HMP doesnt have as much shutdown as they have at NRG/DOME.

I am wanting to go. Just to see if it has improved as far as fan participation/spectator enjoyment.

If my shop was done I would be getting my newest car ready. But time will tell.
