Rehab Garage in Spring
Anyone know these guys? They opened a few months ago next to what looks like the new Powerfab location.
I'm cool with whatever they want to build - hot rods, burn outs, whatever... but guys don't seem to care about local customer base. My street backs up to the back of their shop and so far they think it is fine to sandblast outside and coat our cars in whatever media they are using and sandblast all evening and weekend. I swear it's like they are doing it in my driveway. Talked to them once and they started using an inflatable booth but still sounds horrible.
I asked the guy today why they didn't do it inside (they have a massive building) and his answer was they didn't want sand all over their cars....F'n genius!
Not too smart- there's at least 100 classic cars in our neighborhood...
I'm currently looking at 12 cars they could be working on but no thanks until they start being realistic.
When they opened I was hoping they would be cool now I'm just hoping they run out of $$.....

Funny- I was looking on eBay for one of those this week. There is a nice Jamaica Yellow 92 on Craigslist now but I just picked up a clean 1 owner Grand National... Funds are low!
If it were a yellow 87 formula I would be selling a kidney (not that my alcoholic kidneys are worth anything)

I saw that JY 92, it was at a dealer in Angleton prior to the current owner buying it. I always keep a look out for a clean Maui Blue (Silver-blue metallic) Formula 350. Haven't found any that aren't one step away from the crusher or complete rust buckets. Congrats on the GN purchase.

1965GP, noticed they kick up some dust too (we are the new PowerFab location next door). Saw the outdoor booths. Hopefully they get it under control for ya. Feel free to come by PowerFab and take a tour, plus i'd like some feedback from the neighborhood on how the noise level is from us during the day as the dyno's are in operation. We're making a concentrated effort to cut them off by 6pm each day to be considerate of our neighbors near us.
Bear with us on the occasional dyno night here and there though, or come join in!

Get with the local municipalities about the dust if its still happening. They cant just spray crap every where. As far as the sound goes long as it is during normal business hours type of thing, you might not be able to do much unless the area is not zoned for that type of work.

wow, i grew up maybe 50 yards from that. Go across louetta and like the 4th house down (spring creek oaks)you should find about 50 trashbags filled with 15 yr old beer cans that I chunked over the fence to hide from my parents
CarConnection, did the shop do okay during the flooding? I've seen that creek fill to the top a few times, was wondering with the recent floods. Good area, lots of car guys in the nearby subdivisions. I know of 4 or 5 that live on sandypine dr across the street.

Oh- that's Ed. That truck now has a nice knock to it and he has a C7.
I was on the corner with the Lime Green Daytona and Orange H2. Along with too many 4th gens. Your car was silver or black right? Now we have a black SRT8 and everything else pretty much fits in the garage.
Wish we had met up! Still in the area? There was also a nice 4th Gen z that came down there from time to time.

yeah it was a pewter frc. I was actually living in dallas at the time which is probably why we never met. I'm SURE I threw a few revs as I drove by though hahaha. I live in Austin now, bought out here a little bit over a year ago. Car scene here isn't as good as Houston but it's picking up.

Rehab Garage Sand Blasting Issue
Good Afternoon everyone!
Just found these comments about our facility and wanted to update the current situation.
2 months ago we invested in a new system for blasting called Dustless Blasting. The current system we use is a wet blasting process that has little or no dust and does not travel through the air like the old system. Also, the new system does NOT use sand. It is an ECO friendly blasting media. We have cars in our storage area that are within 20 feet of the blasting area and DO NOT get sand contamination. We realized that there was an issue in the past and we have made investments to correct these. We are very concerned about being the best neighbors possible to the residents behind our facility and work to minimize the disturbance. Unfortunately we can not make everyone happy all of the time but we try.
Please feel free to come by and let us know of any other issues that may arise.
Thank you,
Have a great holidays!
