Default engine machine chops

Anyone have a recommendation for a machine shop in the Austin to S.A areas? I have used a couple of shops for my old engines, but I want to be safe with a shop that works on LS based engines. All I need is the block cleaned up, new cam bearings installed and a quick hone, balance the rotating assy and building the heads. I'll be building the engine myself. I just want to make sure the shop is good. I was thinking about Missions in S.A. as they have done some race motors for us in the past. Our Austin guy retired and sold the shop.

Funny thing is most of the machine shops here in SA have Mission do their balancing. Mission & Kotzur do great work. If your in a time crunch I'd recommend Mission.

Emailed Glenns, Missions was the cheapest so far. Mark G was the highest so far but it sounded like he knows what these engines need.

So waiting to hear back from Glenns.

Yes he did. We are in the same building, but there is a wall dividing us. I can get you in touch with him if you want.

I have not used them for machine work, but I have done business with Texas Speed. I learned my lesson, never again.

What happened and with who? Im headed to Tx speed today for some parts. I called them about the machine work but they want to build it. They didnt sound like they wanted to do what I needed and me build it myself.

I’d consider driving it up to Thompson. They did a great job on my friends 416 in his 14 Corvette
