Ls1tech is dead as **** these days, and only getting worse. I'd honestly be surprised if IB kept it going in ~5 years from now at this rate. It used to be where all the good **** was happening and everyone interacted, but as said for some reason Facebook has taken over. Shame really, I like forums a lot more than unorganized and scattered Facebook groups

TX2K is great for the hobby but 98% of the crowd there belongs on FB. Facebook is the debbil! Momma said so. That is the sad direction the world is moving in. It does however allow folks to stay in touch easier. I just can't get with it and will probably never have an account.

I've seen it on a lot of forums between my hobbies. One thing that happens is you learn a lot and soaking up as much information or commenting on things you have seen people asked many times tends to ADHD you after a while. Oil threads are a prime example going back to 2000 on the Moparts Forum and many Auto and Motorcycle Forums since.
We outgrow a lot of the posts is a large part of it. I had abandoned most of my hunting forums the last couple of years for instance but I went back a couple of months ago (and it hit the wallet). I still pop up on FJ Cruiser Forum but nothing like in the past for instance.
This sight is pretty big with lots of sub forums so it can seem dead. TBSS Forum is really good people but little traffic.

It'll be a shame if LS1tech shuts down. Lots of good searchable knowledge here that cant be found easily on FB. Like said though, its all forums. My fishing forums are all dead or slowly dying because of FB. The only forums that have a chance are gun forums that let you buy and sell.

I'll second that- I have no interest in Facebook. I do feel like I miss out on some things, like when old groups of friends get together or my kids school posts dates for events, things like that. Still- worth it to avoid the hassles/drama.
Wife and I have both managed to stay off fb, do admit I get addicted to twitter every now and then. I got on for NFL news and now there is Fox News, Houston news channels, 80's and 90's trivia, 30 second fights......basically a bunch of time wasters.
Work is making me get on linked in- not sure if that's as bad as fb or not.
