I would be up for a Sunday at the track. I would prefer to have the track to ourselves. I am willing to cough up the $50 just to have it all to ourselves. I am not as interested in classes, trophies, etc. (probably cause I won't get one anyway). I am more interested in just seeing all the folks, making a bunch of passes, and spending the day without other distractions. End of September sounds good because the weather will have cooled (hopefully).

Thumbs up

Even though my widdle LS1 isn't fast I'd be up for attending and making some passes. Hopefully my next round of mods will be here by that time so I can have them on for the event.

Either renting the track or not is fine with me, and I'm flexible on the dates, with the exception of 8/29 & 9/26 I'm unavailable.

Consensus that I'm getting from both Austin and Houston peeps is that a Sunday is preferable. Gray and I will work on this. Waiting for Tony to get in touch with me. When we set a date, we will put out the word.

Good deal, I'm going for sure, not racing but I'll have the TA up there.

This sounds like a blast! Id be down for sometime in september, saturday or sunday, but it sounds like sunday will work better for most. I think renting the track would be a great deal, 50 bucks to get in is WELL worth it if you've ever been out to HRP on a friday night. Let us know what happens guys! JP

Guys,

really glad to see that there is still interest. Gray and I have been keeping this topic alive between the two of us, but ran into a disconnect: Most peeps want it to be a "real event" where we rent out the track etc. That's fine, but we haven't gotten a lot of committed support to help us set-up, run, and pay for an event of that magnitude. We don't want to rent out the track, have only 10 people show up and lose our *** on the money. We also don't want to be the only two people running the event. We'd be running around with our hair on fire and couldn't do it to standard with just two organizers.

I propose that we first have an "informal" session like we first described. We will pick a day when the track is already running and post it up (with advance notice). We'll all just meet on one area of the pits and then check out each other's cars and decide who wants to grudge who.

Should be a lot of fun without a lot of overhead.

so i guess this never went down????

after just reading the entire thread it seems like we need a firm date and firm commitments...make a sticky thread with committed attendees and then once we have that we can rent the track...

i know it would take some effort, but really having this event could be awesome if we got people from all over the state. i don't see a way that we can't get at least a 100 people at one of these...

people cannot commit to paying cash and being somewhere w/o a firm date...

brining back the ole threads...

I'll be happy to post this on TexasFBody.org when more details are known.

As for me, I'm down for racing but it needs to be at least two weeks in the future since the car's apart this weekend, and next weekend is Clash of the Titans at SAR.

(Obviously if we want good attendance then it would need to be probably at least a month out from now, and cooler weather atracts more people.)

Im in for the h-town boys. I will make the drive. It would be nice to have a place were the houston guys can park and the austin guys can park. That way we can distinguish from one another. What ya say?

hmmm, there might be some interest from san antonio....

we've hosted a couple of fbody shootouts at SAR. im sure we could try and round up another one but as the others have said, it might have to be done a month or so in advance and whatnot

i'll talk to some of the others and see what they say. i'll post a link to this thread also on the san antonio fbody forums.
