Don't have a clue how it started, but 420 stands for April 20th and is a holiday for smoking weed from what I can tell. I'm not sure if there is more to it than that or not...

420 is the time of day to smoke...Ever notice the former 101 KLOL always played a dope smokin' song at 4:20 every day...It got started by a bunch of high school kids in cali that would meet at a statue every day at 4:20 to smoke some dope.

It's the drugs unofficial holiday. It's a reference to the time of day (4:20) and the date/year - April 20th. There are also many people that say it references a biblical script regarding marijuana. The biblical script use can be found in such Biblical passages as Genesis 1:12 "And the earth brought forth grass and herb yielding seed after this kind, and tree yielding fruit whose seed was itself, after his kind and God saw that it was good."
The word 'herb' appears frequently in the King James Version of the Bible, and has been interpreted by some as a justification for the use of the so-called 'holy herb' (marijuana) for meditative and curative purposes. HOWEVER, there is NOT a script 4:20 that refers to "herb".
One myth claims that police use the number 420 to signal a marijuana possession arrest. Drug users in the 1960s co-opted the term as a snub at the law enforcement community. Another competing and less popular story links the 4/20 holiday with Adolph Hitler's birthday. The Internet is rampant with Web sites created by loyal pot-smokers claiming they personally invented the term - and each webmaster claims his own unique origin.

shut up John it's cuz april 20th is "National Smoke Out Day" a day in which you're supposed to quit smoking ciggs. But of course kids being kids, "OOO National smoke out day!!!"

I'm just a dumb Pot smoker, but I believe Nov. 20 is the day that your not suppose to smoke cigarettes, but maybe I hit the bong a little too much. Oh and Pot or marijuana as you might know it is a Plant that threatened Mr. Dow, from Dow chemicals, in the 30's, when Pot was legal in the U.S., a machine was invented, that would of made the cultivation of Hemp more cost efficient than pulp, but at the time Dow was heavily vested in the pulp/timber production, and this machine would of quite possibly of lost him millions, so he teamed up with a Mr. Henry Anslinger, and with a little financial influence, Marijuana was made illegal, 1 year before this machine made production, and since then it has been put into people heads that this "plant" is a drug, and bad for you, even when the state of California deemed it legal for medical use, the Federal Government stepped in and arrested Doctors, for prescribing it to their patients, completely violating Doctor/ Patient relationships, At this point in life, I believe that most of the stereotypical, Non-Pot-Smokers, are all old, and now at least half of America has at least tried pot, and can honestly say that it's no more of a threat than alcohol is, and eventually times will change, and pot will be legal again, as prohibition can't last forever. It takes great Nations like Canada, and big companies like Bayer to step up to the plate and renounce America and the United Nations, by making Pot legal with restrictions, and by teaming up with pharmaceutical giant Bayer, to produce "marinol" a pill form of the plant, to give to terminally ill patients to help comfort them, and relieve some of their pain, All of this is fact, and is readily available via the internet. Don't be a puppet, do the research, and make your own decision based on the facts, oh and please forgive the ranting and raving, I just finished a BIG FAT JOINT of the Blueberry Stuff, but back on subject, in reference to 619, I'm no rocket scientist, but I believe that can be reference to "June teenth" And that day stands for something as well, do the research, a learn about American History.http://www.pot-tv.net/archive/shows/...owse-2522.html
