Default Zaino ?

Anyone see any problem with applying the first caot of zaino on top of the z-6 spray, or does the first coat need to go straight onto the paint? I will be using the new ZFX with polish for each coat.

Also, anyone see the temperatures creating any problems for me trying to put two coats of zaino with ZFX on my car tonight? I won't be able to start on it until after 5:00 tonight.

The car was washed and claybared then parked in the garage for a week and I would like to get the dust and everything off with the z-6 before trying to apply the polish. Please let me know if you see any problems in any of this.

Thanks,
B

All i know is. . . .take it easy with the polish. . . . . the first time i used zaino i thought the more i put the better it would look. . . .BOY WAS I WRONG. It took me a long time to take off that wax. It looked like it had streaks in the paint. I think 5:00 may be a lil too late. let me know how it goes.....

I need to buy some stuff from Zaino, anyone local want to go in on an order to reduce the rediculous shipping rate? All I really need is some car wash, but the shipping costs as much as what I'm buying

I went ahead and put two coats of Z-5 on last night without any issues. Cleamed the dust of with Z-6 then did the first coat of Z-5 with the ZFX treatment and left it in the garage for about an hour. Everything came off very easy and then I waited about another 30 min. before putting on the second coat. the swirl marks are already starting to go away and the overall look of the car is getting much better. I did the coats nice and thin and along with the ZFX I didn't have any drying time issues. I used about 1oz. for two coats.

Hopefully tonight I can get another 2-3 coats of Z-5 on and when I get back from out of town this weekend I can finish up with the Z-2.

Well, I would've stripped it and started over if it didn't have any base coat already on it. The Vette came complete with swirl marks already, so I only have a couple coats of Z5 on it. Chris M. was kind enough to offer up his buffer to get rid of them (and I will take him up on it ), at which time it will get stripped again. I do the Dawn, clay, dawn, Zaino treatment to make sure there's a good base coat. When I had the Trans Am, it took a solid weekend to get the base coats (this was before the new ZFX), but once it was there, it only needed a coat every six months or so and always looked good. Once the Vette gets buffed, stripped and Zaino'd, it should stay looking good as long as I keep the dust off of it and keep it out of the rain (I'm remembering why I said I'd never have another black vehicle - a California Duster is a must have for a black car ).
