From someone who worked for Exxon back in the day, left to start his own garage/performance shop and had some of the fastest cars in the nation (including his own) come out of his garage, then having to stop because of his and his wifes health not what it use to be, to starting "Hot Rod Gossip", I would say a pretty successful web site, to his "ClobberThons" I would say he's got his **** together...I don't see too many other people doing that.
Yeh, I suppose some people that don't really know Joe may come away with the impression that you have about him. Some that do know him don't like his ways. But thats just Joe. Take it or leave it. With Joe, you know were you stand. I like it that way. You know the old saying, never judge a book by its cover. I know I've been wrong many, many times over the years by doing just that. I think you've just done it too...Just my 2cts.

Yeah, that was a bit strong, but I think that the ls1 tech's guy's in Houston need to form something together and not so much as 1 person trying to fill his pocket up and just have a day out at the track...You know that some of those rules are the pits. and it should not be left up to him how these guy's want to set the race...It will happend soon but not with Joe. I think he makes enough off his deals...
Point taken Dennis..

I have an idea. Why don't we get a few people together and rent out a track for a day. From what I hear it costs somewhere around 500 to rent out HMP for the whole day...I will call and post some info on this. Maybe we can have 3-4 cars with no spectators, just crews. This would not be a money making deal for any of us except if the owners race for some Euro or something. Of course the entry money would have to be divided evenly to rent the track.... OK...Here it is. I just got off the phone with the owner of San Antonio Raceway and he said he charges 250/hour minimum of 5 hours plus 300 for insurance. He told me 4-5 cars with drivers and crews and the track supplies the ambulance and safety needs. Sounds like a cheap deal to me if 5 drivers split the costs. What do you think?
I called HMP as well but I am still waiting to hear from them.
