I'm not trying to ***** MTI because I really don't get any special treatment, Jayson doesn't know me by name, & I haggle my *** off on prices as much as I can but Chris & David have always been good to me & Jayson has been great at tuning my car & even let me put together a group purchase on tuning back when I got mine. He's done a great job tuning my car IMHO, 417RWHP seems to be good numbers for my setup from what I've seen here.
Every time I've been there they have been swamped, but when the do get around to helping me, they don't rush me, they spend all the time I require. Granted I always go up there on Saturdays since it's the only time I can go.

I had a good customer service experience at MTI. They actually spent a good amount of time helping me out and looking up the code my car was spitting out. Been there only twice, but i give them a thumbs up. However, I do see MTI as a shop for the rich while Speed Demon, Icon, and all the others are more for the average joe. They may be one of the best shops in the houston area, but they're a little steep for my pocket. Other than that they're a knock out shop.

I have used MTI since 98. Stopped by G Force Motorsports yesterday late afternoon, really seemed like a great bunch of guys. going to most likely let them change my cam.

It was several years back now, before I bought a welder, but I had a (now out of business) shop weld in my subframe connectors and weld in a catback. Beyond that, I have always used my own garage

YOU did not have problems with their service. This thread is asking where you go, not where you "won't" go because of a friend.

In the past I have done a large percent of the mods myself. I also leaned on a few local shops that are sponsors here for the bigger jobs.
Now that I have seen what options there are out there and have realized what I need and expect from a performance shop, I rely on (HPE) Horse Power Engineering to keep our car rolling strong.
When I walk into a shop , I expect to be treated like a valued customer, have a variety of performance options and know that I am surrounded by a very knowledgable and dedicated staff. You should have a relationship of trust and integrity with your shop of choice and since money doesn't grow on trees, you should settle for nothing less. That's my .02
