A_W_O_L i'm a former TOW gunner. you guys are great i aint ever seen anyone work as hard as you guys checking those sites and making sure our optics are in working order. seeing that thoses are our money maker at night.

Well, I looked into thing and talked to some recent veterans of the USMC and asked tons of questions. Seems like Ordnance is a good place to be. You get to travel, fix things, and work around badass equipment. Sounds good enough to me. 2111 is where I will head.

hey good luck in boot camp. i have been in the navy for 3 years. i'm a master at arm (MP) but i'm a military working dog handler. just remeber boot camp ends it's not forever

If you want to be a grunt then you better get it fast. That's one of the very very very fast filling MOS they're usually filled for the year the begining of the FY, and no if you come in open contract that doesn't mean you'll be in the infantry. You might end up as a cook, or something you might not like. 03xx all the way.

all right man you made a good choice joining a real service. HAHA just kidding for all you non-corps members dont get your panties in a ruffle. You should take all this advice people have given you and learn from it. Pick an Mos that you will enjoy doing every day for four years and one that will benefit you in the long run if decide to get out after four years, thats why a technical mos would be your best bet. Just remember that every marine is a rifleman first, so if you want to hump 60 pds dont worry you will have plenty of opportunities to do so unless you end up in aviation unit. and dont worry about traveling, you will do plenty of that too, you just got your self a roundtrip ticket to the large sandbox in the middle east. Goodluck in bootcamp and make sure to put out 110 percent everyday and you will do just fine.

Well, I went in today and put Comm on my papers. For the same reason that the above post went over. I plan on taking as many humps as I can with whatever I can while overseas, so it doesn't matter where I go...I will still get to carry a gun. Plus, I am still pondering sticking around after my fours years, but the Comm jobs do look good on resumes, I have heard. Either way, I will be a Marine, and that's all that really matters.
