Default steering wheel emblem...

I painted my steering wheel emblem on my Corvette and my uncles, and it looks way better than a cheesy decal. Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Dean

Why not use www.photobucket.com like you did for your signature image?

Looks sweet Dean, I want to have mine done. How long does it take, and what would you charge to do such a thing, I am sure that it looks even better in person, I sure would rather have that than a sticker, just plan awesome

I really like the painting better than the stickers, kind of unique.

Thanks everyone! I have been building models and painting since I was very little, and I am also an artist. So I decided I would paint mine knowing that I have the skills to do so. I used water based acrylic enamels for the color and a water based polyurathane satin clear to seal it. The clear is flexible and won't crack or chip off. I have slammed my fist into it honking at some idiot and then realized after the fact that it held up nicely. I didn't mean to test it...LOL! But I have had mine on for about 6 months now with no problems. It has been in the heat and cold. I posted a pic to see what people thought since I recently did my uncles car and he said I could probably make some extra money doing it for other people.
Jet, it takes me about 3 hours of tedious work to complete it. I am thinking I should get about $75 for the work. But that is negotiable.

You did a good job on applying your decal, I have seen stickers that look flat and don't conform to the shape, but the decal does better. The beauty of painting is that you get to decide your color scheme. For instance the chevy symbol and fluer-de-lis symbol I did in silver like the old Corvette emblems vs the white they used on your sticker. I made the border silver as well, although it could be any color you want. I also painted white highlights with a fine brush on the edges of the chevy symbol, fluer-de-lis, flags, etc. The light from the photo almost falls in the same place, but if you look closely you will see the white. So I did not just do base colors, I added highlights as well.

It looks like I am going to do Jets steering wheel soon and I will post pics when it is done. I am doing a yellow border with shading, it should look nice. I've been told that I should charge $100 because $75 is too cheap, but I will stick to $75 for a custom emblem. If anyone wants theirs done locally, I can do it in about 3 hours on your car.

OK, we will set up a day when you get here. Like I said, it will take about 3 hours. But you can watch while I do it and we can BS...LOL!
