Angry Ticket on HWY 6 !!!

So I am cruisen along at 70 mph like a good little boy, when I see a cop on the other side of the road facing south. I am going north. I kept an eye on him and sure as **** he pulls around. I see him doing 100 to catch up with me. He gets up to my drivers side door, then pulls back behind and puts his lights on. I asked him why he pulled me over and he said for window tint. I tell him it is legal but he checks it anyway. It is legal. So he goes back to his car for a couple of hours and finally comes back with a ticket for an obstructed license plate. I knew about the law, but appearently misunderstood it. He was looking for something. Is there anything I can do, or am I S.O.L.!
Thanks Brandon

..... i hate cops like that. just get a lawyer, and let him take care of it. Or you can ask for deferred judification (or whatever its called) 90 day probation......

Yeah I have one in my truck. The thing that is funny is I was doing 140mph down 105. I haven't got caught doing any bad. I always get harassed for stupid stuff.

Nope, the cop said that would not make any difference. I told him I would take it off right there on 6. He said it was too late!

I don't think you can take deferred for the license plate obstruction. It has to be a moving violation. What you should do is "slightly modify" your license plate frame, then take a picture of it and bring it to court with you and show the judge. If it isn't obstructed too bad maybe he'll throw it out.

Good idea. I don't think the cop will remember how much it really was covered up! I just don't want to get in trouble or pay the fine.

That dick must have really wanted you to justify the act of crossing over and driving a 100+ to catch you. CS can either be real nice or complete turds it just depends on who had a good day or not I guess. Fight it you'll come out

Sux to hear that man....I got a ticket the other day, in the middle of butt-***-nowhere, 71 in a 60 (truly a BS ticket). and the fine is like $140!!!!! the last ticket I got here in Tx (over 6 years ago) was for 12 mph over and the rates were $90 for 10 mph over and an additional 5$ for each mph after that. WTF happed? why such a HUGE increase? Seems like they're gunning for me.

I was pulled over 2 weeks ago just north of kingwood on 59 (before then new construction zone went up) 2 times on monday...once comming, the other going,..then on tuesday afternoon. Let go all 3 times, but i was only running 71 in a 65 .... I think they were really wanting to mess with me cause that's only 6 over..... but every time they came up to the car, they never even asked for a DL....I think the Eagle Globe and Anchor at the bottom of the back glass saved me from being truly fucked with. Still aggrivates me that they would pull me over when others around me were driving faster.

The state just raised their part of the "fine" by 30 bucks. Statewide. Doesnt just mean state trooopers. All fines went up 30 bucks. All state laws, e..g.. speeding, DWI, ect ect ect

But hey...its all about safety!

^ $30 is ALOT more income for the state....i know the katy freeway is expensive, but DAMN!

-brandon, im not sure about college station, but you should be able to have it dismissed. sounds like the guy really wanted to pull you over, then needed to come up with a legit reason to prevent himself from getting into too much trouble.

i don't think he has mentioned that he was pulled over in college station. i think most people assume when they hear "6" they think B/CS. going btw CS and Houston is a pain i hear....but i've only done it twice.
