Need help identifing something...

How can you tell if a car has ls6 intake and not the standard ls1 intake? My sister just bought a 98 ls1, I wanted to see if someone did the swap. I just wanted to know what I would be looking for.

You would be looking for a hole if it's a pre-LS6 intake. If it doesn't have a hole right behind the throttle body, then it's an LS6 intake.

I have no hole. That hole is for the egr system.

not neccisarrily. no vette ever had an EGR whole behind the throttle body. and some LS6 have been drilled for the EGR. and all '01-'05 LS1 had them too.

the LS1 is smaller on the underside. if you have both compare them you will notice the differance. there are some other differances. the back coolant bypass under the manifold need to be blocked off for the LS6.

You have an '02 w/ an LS6 intake. That is why you have no EGR provision. FWIW some LS6 intakes were made to work w/ EGR. If thats the case I dont know a way to tell. If it is a '98 w/ no EGR then it is an LS6 intake w/ the EGR deleted from the computer.

Oh, and I could be wrong about that first part? Its been awhile since I've been under anyone else's hood...
