Angry SES light wont go away!!!!!!!!

well ive replaced all the spark plugs, wires, cleaned out the fuel injectors real well, and replaced my 02 sensors and extension wires. yet im still getting a cylinder 7 misfire. my mechanic TOLD me that he THINKS it could be a piston ring, but i highly doubt it is that. anyone got any clues on what this could be? mods are listed in the signature

swap the coil packs around, that would rule out a coil pack failure (make sure to reset the code before you start testing etc.)

if it's still doing it, pull the valvecover and check the pushrods/springs, if its still doing it, you've got problems. maby you have as short in one harness somewhere thats only affecting that one plug.

what exactly have you done to "clean" the fuel injectors? fuel injector cleaner in the gas?

ive swapped the injectors out and the coil packs around, all are fine. pushrods and valve springs were okayed by one of my mechanics(he works at Beck and Masten Pontiac and at a performance shop in La Porte) but im still iffy on him telling me that theres something wrong with my piston rings, pistons, or a valve, but then again he didnt pour oil on em to help diagnose the misfire.

whenever im at a stop and just letting off the brake it feels as if i have an aftermarket cam. i havent checked any of the wires on the wiring harness as of yet. but if im gettin 105 psi from cylinder 7, wouldn't that mean that the problem at hand is mechanical?

anyone have any reccomendations on a mechanic that could find the problem and take care of it fairly cheap? i know labors a bitch to pay if it is an internal problem. it just doesnt make sense that an internally stock motor running just bolt on's would have such a problem. the cars never seen boost and it isn't run hard all the time.

Compression test it. You probably have a lifter sticking
