Depends what kind of car a F body, will have one, a vette has two.

There are ones that are electric, and some that you screw off and take the cap off.

The electric ones are QTP, and Mccords, do search. I have heard good and bad about both, I really think it is a toss of the dice on if you get a bad one. Good luck

a speed shop would definatly do it, but you can at least ask a local exhaust shop to do it, the most they can do is say no.

i dont see how it would stand up in court if you had it closed when you got pulled over, tell them you take it off at the track

I was thinking about doing a set of the electric cutouts. But the way that I understand the writing of the law on this is that just by having the cutouts on the vehicle is illegal. The way that it is written up, leaves it open to whose ever judgement. Tou might get a leniant judge or cop that will throw it out because it was not open at the time, but from the writting it is illegal to have it installed. I don't know how it would work trying to get it inspected either.

I think that the law states that any part that allows the exhaust/emissions system to be bypassed is illegal.

they are sorta illegal....bypassing a cat is a huge no no, but im not sure on the muffler deal. I know it wont pass a safety check by DPS.

Yeah, bypassing the cats is huge, the muffler might not be that bad but it definitely won't pass a safety check. Plus if a cop pulls you over for sound violation or street racing or anything of that nature, then chances are you will be getting a secondary ticket for this, whether they were actually open at the time or not.
