Default Mr. Icon does it again...

Major props to Mike (IconAutosports) for gettin' me back in the saddle again...And damn does it feel good...

I really wanted to start enjoying driving the SS on the streets again so...Did some pretty major changes to the SS this time around.

First problem we had to address was some issues with the drivers side head. After some "under the magnifing glass" inspection Mike found out it needed some major attention. Before finding the crack in the head Mike e-mailed me a pic of the #2 Plug that was caked with coolant and oil. Not what I wanted to see.

The original port job done on these 5.3 heads was done several years ago and judging from the extra epoxy it was ported to the max. Mike had found that it had somehow cracked at the factory seam inside the intake runner and needed some meticulous welding and re-porting.

Then he pulled the BMR K-member, upper and lower A-arms, switched out the KennyBrown springs and put it all back to the original SS suspension, sway bar and all. Damn I forgot how well this thing drove from the factory!

Mike also pulled the T-56 and had him put in all the upgraded goodies this time around. Removed the McLeod twin disc and went back with a Spec 3. Couldn't be happier! Clutch engages great, awesome pedal feel. As usual he did a few "extras" for me and I couldn't be happier!

Mike buttoned everything back up. I picked it up thursday and haven't stopped driving it yet. Damn this car still hauls...

Mike...THANK YOU! You da man...

Dennis gets the crown for "demodding King".

These cars are very nice in stock form, I've been enjoying my orange one and it is 100% stock right now. Of course, it needs a turbo though

Joe...couldn't be happier! The best the tranny's felt since day 1...Thank You! Planned on calling you to let you know after I had some seat time.

Tony...yep, feels good to truly "drive" it again. And with 530 still at the 315's it feels cool. Had to smack down an '05 C6 showin' off for his GF in League City. Now that was some funny sh** !! I actually took it easy on him too...

Hope to see everyone out real soon. Tony, let me know the next little GTG ya'll have so I can check out your latest projects...Your killin' me man!

Glad to know that everything feels ok DJ. It's good to see one of the "O.G." bad boys back out on the streets. Now we need to put the N2o or the F1R on it. It's just not the same naturally aspirated!!!

Mike, I had a couple of question...First, what the he** is "O.G."? Still tryin' to figure that out. Or do I want to know?

Second, now that the motor doesn't have oil/coolant injection... ...it seems to be idling smoother and for some reason has a tendency to light up the 315's around 60-70mph...WTF is the deal?

How can I stop this suffocating abuse of power?

I have to admit, not bad for N/A...

But, I"ll let ya know when we can start the "next" project! Can we all say "BOOOSSSTTTT"...

Great job as usual Mike.

DJ, I need to go on a test run with you and feel the difference since you've made all of the changes. We definitely need to have some kind of get together this spring before it gets too hot.

BTW, what does O.G. mean?
