paint on my car

Ok so I was washing my car today at a carwash. I was spraying off some bird **** and it was really on ther so I sprayed the water on it for a few seconds in the area the **** was. Well the **** finally came off but so did a huge chunk of my pant (about 3 inches worth).

I am so pissed. Was wondering if I have to get the whole hood repainted or can you just get a touch up on that area that would blend in with the rest of the hood?

if its just the clear coat that came off.. then touch up is fine, i have same problem.. but yeah.. just try to blend it in.. if it works out.. great, u saved some money.. if it doesnt.. no harm done, then u know u have to get it painted..

Man that is one cheap paint job on that hood, I would take it back to the dealership and complain.

Take it back to Ford and complain to service manager. That paint should not come off a car that new. Man that sucks. I hope they take care of it.

Called and they are going to take care of it. I knew they would but I was just wondering what they will do...paint the whole hood or just touch up that area. I guess I will have to wait and see what they say.

Being in the paint business, when it peels like that, there is an adhesion problem. They usually start by tring to feather the area to see how far they the problem goes. My bet is they are going to strip the hood a repaint from ground up.

They should repaint the whole hood for you. Fords paint, like Gn said, has an adhesion problem. Started a couple of years back when I first started working for ford. Chris
