emissions egr question?

Default emissions egr question?
I need to get my car inspected but I just put on a ls6 intake and now throwing a code for the egr and check engine light is on. Question is will the car still pass emissions. I dont recall seeing egr on my other emissions reports. Just things like cats and stuff. Let me know asap guys,

It won't pass inspection with a SES light and a code. If you get that fixed then it should pass

what if I have the engine light turned off with a tech 2. I know it will come back in a few hours but it would give me enough time to get it inspected right?

I dont think it will pass with any SES light one regaurdless of what caused it.

the ses ussually pops up right away after two engine cycles. good luck though

No, it won't work. The way they have these lights set up is that when the codes get reset, they will read "NOT READY" for a few days, that way if the problem is still there the SES light will kick back in. It will not pass inspection throwing NOT READY codes. You are allowed to be throwing up to 3 codes before you pass as long as your SES light is not on, but when you reset the codes, it resets everything to NOT READY, so the computer will fail you. They do this for that exact reason, so that people who are throwing codes will not go get the light turned off, then go get it inspected and pass. Not ******* you or anything, just letting you know. Hope this helps, and good luck with everything

If you just cleared the code, and did not delete it out of the PCM, you will get "not ready" codes and fail anyway.

Thats what I thought but aren't you allowed 2 Not readys and still able to pass? or does it have to be 2 failed tests to pass?

Yes, you are allowed two, but when you reset the light, it sets all the codes to NOT READY and you will fail.
