Hey Marc, my Secretary at work said her son is selling his navy blue 83 Blazer. Everything on the truck works fine (A/C, heat, etc...), they are only asking $1500 for it. Might be a good parts or starter truck.

Damn, wish I'd known that first. It's probably in better shape. My roommate needs a vehicle though, I'll ask if he's interested.

I don't want to put a carb on an LS1, that would negate my whole reason for putting it in. An LSx engine without all the extra stuff shouldn't be that bad. Hell, I may just go through the small block that's in it & keep it super cheap.

It just depends on how much I end up driving it. If I see I'm going to drive it often, I may go with the swap so I don't have the cold morning start ups & have to warm it up as long. I have already been pondering selling the dually I just got or the Trans Am so I can get back to school sooner than I planned....but I'm thinking I'll just put off school another year or so & just pay off the TA so I only have the dually note.

OH yeah, Tony, sorry I was snippy, it was a long night Sunday with the drive back, unloading, cleaning the fish & then getting up at 4:30 & working from 6-5 then dealing with an hour of traffic...I wasn't in the most humorous mood. Anywho...when I get her running someone reliable, you can go muddin with me if you are up for it....just bring some clothes that you don't mind spilling beer on, lol.

As for Trucks, yeah, Big Blaze was definately my inspiration for this project. I have wanted a K5 for a VERY long time & I just couldn't pass up $500 for one that runs.

I pulled the cap & rotor & they are shot, carb is gummed up pretty bad, dirty air filter, brittle spark plug wires, bad plugs....I'm just going to give it a full tune up, check the timing & see how she runs with just the tune up & go from there.

I am sorta bummed to find out it's only a 305....I didn't think they'd put one in a 4x4 but I guess I was wrong. I was thinking at least a 350....and I don't think they did the SB 400's in 84 although my 80 3/4 ton 4x4 had a 400

No, the guy had already traded it for a Cadi or something else....I had called him several times but when he finally got back in touch with me it was gone. I couldn't get off to go see it in time........ah well. I'll probably be getting a 66 chevy stepside before too long. It needs lots of work but to me that's a great deal of the fun, building it.

Sweet! I miss off roading....I just couldn't pass up a K5 since I had always wanted one. She isn't much to look at but a fresh coat of mud will make it look better

hope you dont use that same ultra hip 1984 paint scheme! that chick up on the billboard is about to jump off and kill herself because of it

those are like 38" tires making the truck look like it has more than a 4" lift.

one of my buddies used to have a 79 k-5 (i think 79?) with a 400" SB and 35" tires. one day we got rear ended by a chevy cavilier smashed the whole hood up into the windshield and totalled the car. i was sitting in the backseat and it felt like a gocart hit us lol diddnt even scratch the bumper on "The Tank"

big cubic inch LSx motor, t-56, big axles with like 5.00+ gears and some boggers! do they make a transfer case that will werk with a t-56? that 6 speed will help on the gas mileage and the big gears will help

So many options....so little money, lol. I have a good offer for a TPI setup out of an IROC Z........plus I can get the rolling chasis with it for some other project down the road for a decent price. I just need to weight my options. I need to get under the hood & do the tune up on the motor that's in it right now & see how it runs. I'd like to at least play a little while I build it up
