Those who have cleaned up/ported the FAST 90mm intake, need some help.
As you probably already know, the FAST 90mm intake needs some work prior to installation. There are a few areas that need to be smoothed out. So far I've smoothed out the lip that sticks out approximately 1" into the port and also where the middle portion meets the bottom portion. I tried to disassemble the middle portion from the bottom so that I can see if there are any other parts that need to be cleaned up, but had no luck seperating the 2. I took out all the bolts, but dont want to break it. Anyhow, I really dont see any more that I can clean up and was wondering if I'm maybe missing something or good to go? The last thing I was thinking about doing it cleaning up the top portion. It has some marks on the ends of the runners that looks like it needs to be cleaned up. Also, the inlet for the throttle body, it too has a lip that I would like to smooth out. Just wondering if I'm over doing it or is this common practice on these intakes. I dont want to hurt the flow/hp. I figured what I was doing was only helping. Anyhow, if you have any input/help/tips, let me know. Thanks.

I think you are over thinking things. The only porting that I had done on mine was having it ported to the whitness marks runner where it meets the head "basicly gasket matched". When you were trying to take it apart did you take the screws out of the bottom?

I have stock heads. There's really no need for porting of the runners unless I had aftermarket heads. If you port the runners bigger than the heads, I've heard that it cause turbulance which hurts performance. There are several places where there are flashing marks, lips, etc. that needs to be cleaned up. I know lots of members who do this with good results and I did take the screws out of the bottom.
