Asshole!!!
If you're reading this, thanks a lot for your understanding *******. Cops like you are why I stay out of Pasadena.
And by the cops reasoning, the only way to legally get the car to the inspection station would be to trailer the car.
Gimme a break! Jerk policemen like this guy are all too common. He should have used his better judgement and took into consideration that the guy had just bought the car and was in the situation he was. There was absolutely no need in him writing a ticket. Sure, he can go to court and get it dismissed, but its the inconvenience of it all. Total BS on the cop's part IMO!

I 100% disagree with the cop writing him a ticket and your position on this. Mr. "I'll teach 'em a lesson/Mr. Authority Trip" cop should have given the guy a break considering the proof he showed him to go along with his explanation of the situation.

The police officer also has the option to issue a warning, which is an indication to get the problem resolved and not let it happen again or else a violation will be issued. In my opinion this would have been the best thing to do.
But the police officer instead chose to issue a violation, which by the letter of the law he was 100% right. But given the fact the car was just bought it should have had a temporary dealer plate which would have excluded it from having the mandatory inspection. (See Texas Transportation code 548.052 section 2)
So now he has to pay the inspection, $10+ dollars in court fees and waste a day to go to court, so the police officer could write a non-issue ticket.
So in conclusion there is a place to argue the law, but a little common sense saves on both the court costs and citizens time.

can't get a dealer tag if its not bought from a dealer.
one of my buddies got a registration sticker ticket while he had the new one in the glovebox, his mom had put it in there a few days before and told him about it but he had just forgotten to put it on. he took it out and showed it to the cop, but he still wrote him a ticket! had to borrow the 10$ from me to get it dismissed
THIS is the reason why alot cops are held in such *high reguard*. everyone who has a bad experience like this, or hears about it is sickened that this kind of thing even happens.
was he supossed to trailer the ******* car for an inspection? some people just need a swift kick in the ***** :soap:
I bet the cop was a rooky; therefore he wanted to abide by the law word for word crapola.....
now if a cop gave an INSPECTOR a ticket while he was INSPECTING a car, THAT would be histerical!
I would take vacation to see that go infront of a judge.
I would have been upset too and with good reason. Take it to court, maybe they will dismiss it. I sure hope they do, I don't see why the cop couldn't let you off. If the car is inspected then they would let you off wouldn't they
