Can someone tell me the proper way to reset our ecu. Usually i just unplug the negative for 5-10 min, but is there a better way? Im trying to erase the EGR code that came from me going to the ls6 non egr intake. When i put the egr thing back on the code went away but then came back. Runs fine its just anoying.

That should do the trick, but if the SES light keeps coming back on get it scanned and see what code it is throwing.
Peace,

You don't have to disconnect the battery. Turn the key to the on position but don't start the car, pull the PCM BAT and PCM IGN fuses (in that order) in the under-hood fuse box, let it sit for five minutes, shut the key off, replace the fuses in reverse order, and you're done. Did it to my Trans Am many times.
