Default Coolent problem.!!

This has only happend twice, but about 4 weeks ago i noticed that my car leaked some coolent in my garage and didnt really think anything of it, so i popped my hood just to check it out, and i noticed i belt was all chewed up but it still ran with it just like fraded alot. Then i took it to beck and masten because its still under warrenty and they said they checked everthing out and realinged the belt and that everything else was ok. So then i havent had any problems till i went to work today and came back home and in my garage there was a alot more coolent all over the place...... but its not ever heating or anything but its hot as **** out side and it only happend after the car sits a few hours.

Any ideas? And it is still under warrenty a few more months!

"...realinged the belt..." WTF is that?

Do you have a TB bypass? I have seen people with that mod and it was hitting the waterpump pulley.

Just check out all of your coolant lines and try to find where it is coming from.

Take it back there and bitch again, and try to find the problem yourself and tell them what it is.

Good luck,
Craig.

yes, i'd say pop the hood and look for coolant leaks around the water pump and associated hoses. If it's leaking, it's gotta be coming from somewhere... Find that somwhere and there's your problem

If your overflow tank is too full or your system has to much coolant(or water) it will come out of the overflow after its been running at operating temp, the motor keeps the coolant cool while its on when you turn it off its starts to boil and flow over into the overflow tank and if its to full or your system is too full it wil leak out of the overflow tank thats prolly why you see it after youve parked it awhile.

I had a coolent leak and I never could find where it was coming from. Once I got it on the lift I found it would leak just a tiny bit from the water pump. When I replaced the pump I never had another problem. Maybe the bearings in the pump are shot and it causes the pulley to move around which causes the belt to be chewed up? I've never seen it happen on an Fbody but hey you never know. I'm just throwing out ideas

my friends Z would leave small amounts of coolant in his garage floor, he always thought it was from the AC, but after closer inspection it was from the water pump....

Default coolant leak

Try to check the water pump, coolant overflow tank and the hoses. If it's still under warranty take it back and get them to fix it. Hope everything works out.
