You can sign up and run YOUR car in HPDE (Hi-Performance Driver's Education, NOT WHEEL TO WHEEL RACING). It comes complete with professional instruction and lots of track time.
I will be out there competing in teh Camaro/Mustang Challenge in my '96 Firebird.
I don't think it costs anything to spectate and you can roam the pits ... bring your helmet and you can probably snag a ride with someone ...

I agree, summer school does suck. Just spent my weekend moving the final stuff out of my apartment into the duplex i've been living in. Not to mention all this unexpected rain keeps anyone from cleaning their car.
