Pimp my Garage My family just built a new house and I am wanting to do some things to make my garage look good. Does anyone know any good brands for floor paint or tile to lay? I want something that looks good, but wont cost me too much. Or maybe even someone installing it. Also, if anyone has any other ideas to do to the garage...I'm looking to make it a place to chill.
go to the HomeDepot and buy the Rustoleum Epoxyshield garage floor paint kit. Make sure that you follow the directions carefully. I just put some on my parents' garage floor and it looks awesone.

Dont get teh cheap stuff at home depot it will peel. Get the plastic flooring that snaps together or get a line x dealer like for the beds of the trucks they coat floors too and will guarantee it.

Dont buy the garage floor paint from a place like home depot or Lowes. I have ppg aquapon paint on my floor. It's far more durable than the paint at HD. After 5 years hot tires, brake fluid, and oil has yet to tarnish the floor. Aquapon is one part paint and one part epoxy. The stuff at hd is something like one gallon of paint and one pint of epoxy.
Aquapon costs me at $200 for a 3 car garage. This included rollers, tape and paint. I used TSP to clean the floor prior to painting it. If the floor is old and dirty you need use muric acid to clean the floor. TSP can be found at home depot.

TSP = trisodium phosphate. Strong cleaner.
I did the Rustoleum about 1.5 years ago and it has held up well except for the areas where my tires come to rest, which has peeled up very lightly. I've spilled oil, coolant, brake fluid, and countless other stuff, and it has all wiped up without a stain, except sesame oil, which left a light stain. The reasons I chose Rustoleum over the snap-together tiles are price (I bought two kits of Rustoleum for a total of about $120) and I was worried that a spill on the tiles would leak between them and stain the concrete anyway (which is kind of the whole point of treating a garage floor). I also looked into using some of the heavy duty vinyl tile, but again, $120 was cheaper than any other solution.
This is our starter home, so I'm not all that worried about what the floor will look like in 20 years, but I wanted a surface I could work on and clean easily. The Rustoleum fit the bill.
