The way I understand it is that Chip quit and opened his on shop to design cars, and basiclly took a couple of guys with him from boyd when he started. Since then Boyd has had issues with him since he is now the "Competition" in my opinion Chips Designs are a hell of a lot better than Boyds. Like all of Boyd's guys say "he trys to make everything a Boydster"

yeah, Foose ran the hot rod shop and designed most (if not all) of Boyd's famous cars. then he woke up, realized boyd was a jackass, and left.
Mike was designing wheels on Boyd's provided computers. Boyd was right to come down on him, but he over-reacted as usual.
Best thing Charlie ever did was leave Boyd for Foose. Foose has something like a 4-6 YEAR waiting list. He customers have like no expectations or deadlines or cash-limit. Some of them just call and tell him to build a car....here's some cash. The Riddler winner from this year is a good example. Money and time no object build.

thats funny as hell too.I remembe when foose took the new t-bird and changed it up, looked alot better for the tbird..... his design ideas are very nice...
boyd on the other hand...... like said before his stuff mimics alot of other crap.
Now the twin turbo vette they did was very nice, that guy is on protouring i believe...

If in all honesty you sit back and think about Boyds stuff compared to Chip's there is no comparison! Boyd does not design any cars!! All the cars that come out of his shop are all old clunkers that he has stripped and restored! Where as chip will go in and rework/design the car so its a "one off" The vette was sweet, but its been done before. It was just a regular old vette that was stripped and redone, nothing special to it other than the engine. Any good body shop can go and strip and rebuild a car! It takes talent to take a car chop it, smooth it, make it sleek and be a "one off" design!
Like said before I am glad charlie got the opprotunity to work with Foose! Foose coming from the same spot as charlie knows how Charlie was getting screwed with all the time constraints! To me its amazing Boyd is still in business seeing as how all his guys are always complaining about time constraints all they want to do is build a car the right way instead of cutting corners!

For everyone mentioning Boyd's deadlines...they're bullshit. Those are strictly for us watching TV.
Anywho, I gotta see this new chick if she's hotter than Courtney. I was never really a fan of Courtney, I found her pretty annoying. I can't imagine her acting...ack.

I have to agree that there is no comparison between the two. Anyone who can sit down and just mentally draw out the car and colors and make it come out the exact way it is on paper the way Foose does is just awesome. Also how many wrenches do you see Boyd turn compared to Foose? Hands down if I had the money and time Id go with Chip Foose no questions asked. What he does is amazing work.
