Using evolution isn't a good example of a theory with "a contradicting theroy has just as much if not more supporting evidence."

Evolution doesn't say a word about a higher being, but if someone wants to have the opinion that it supports their faith, would you deny them? If athiests believe it makes their opinion stronger, why stop them? More power to them, I say. So many people are looking for more substance in their faith, so why not let some people find that?

Global warming is like evolution in that it is controversial, but it is a theory that is supported by numerous facts and experiments that have yet to be explained by any other theory. Sure, someone could come up with another theory, but it would have to be thoroughly tested (and become as well documented as global warming) before it could replace GW.

Best quote about global warming: "Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing -- in terms of economic policy and environmental policy."

Oh but there are theorys and facts contradicting GW.....MANY of them. Do some research. Dont just buy into this one like "ozone depletion" which has also shown to be utter bullshit.......

Actually I had a good basic understanding of it to begin with, and then I read an extensive article in National Geographic about it as well. The article went to great lengths to define GW, explain its impact on humans and wildlife, had pictures of before and after shots of the effects on different regions, and had a very detailed chart of average temperatures going back thousands of years. Temps have steadily increased after the last ice age, but as soon as humans started burning coal, it's increased at a faster rate (it was even worse after the industrial revolution). National Geographic even drew a standard deviation line where temps should be if they increased at the same rate. Just looking at the chart alone was enough for anyone to realize something's going wrong, and it just so happens to coincide with human activity.

The earths temps have increased and decreased for thousands of years and we are still well below the running average, though on a natural increase. Even if we did somehow have an influence on global temps, which i doubt, it pales in comparison to nature. We could stop burning every fossil fuel at this moment on till doomsday, and it would make basically zero difference.

It would make a great difference to cut back on burning fossil fuels because all of the systems in place in nature to process CO2 would actually have a shot at managing the incredible amount that needs to be processed.

Things would improve, but not much in our lifetimes, and maybe not even in our children's lifetimes (if we get that far before doomsday ) but people don't want to lose money now for a change we may never see with our own eyes.

Incidentally, that's the same attitude of the people who didn't feel like updating the levees.

More CO2 promotes an increase of plant life...

A levee made of Titanium reinforced with 10 ft thick concrete... would not stop a 30+ ft storm surge.....

Plants need CO2 to survive, but they can only filter so much- not burning any fossil fuels ever again wouldn't short their supply enough to hurt them.

The storm surge is not what drowned NO.

Thats why density of plants have INCREASED....

The force of the storm and the surge in Lake P caused by it most certainly did break the levy....

Next....
