Ran a Stroked 402 Z06

Cliff Notes: Raced a fast Vette.
Coming home going from NB I-75 onto WB I-635 I glance down to see some Corvette tail lights. I speed up to merge and come up only to notice it’s a Z06.
"Oh boy, my first time to run a fast car on nitrous!”. So I lean back and crank the bottle open, flip my switches and get ready.
Little did I know who I was about to race.
Hit it from a 65ish and he puts a fender on me. Damn his car is loud and fast! Proceed to run through the gears. I have the N20 cut off at 6300 and I was pushing it to 6700. I could instantly feel the N20 cut off as I pushed the car into the upper RPM's.
I shut her down as the Z06 seems to miss-shift 3-4. We wait for traffic to clear and go again. At this point I want to go from a slower roll. I shift to 2nd gear and we're at around 50ish. Hit the juice and my tires spin. I keep her straight as the shift light glares in my face, I slam 3rd and the Z06 instantly has 3/4 car on me. He has problems shifting, I close the gap to a little more then 1/2 a car. At this point we shut down around 115ish. Honestly it was so quick and I was concentrating keeping her straight on the road I don’t know how fast we got them up to. I pull over to a gas station. First thing that comes out of my mouth is "What Cam/Heads are you running?" His response: "402 Stroker"
He introduces himself and I instantly recognize his company’s name. Jeff w/ Textralia Clutches! We ended up shooting the breeze for about 30 minutes. He said that he was surprised to see me still next to him after we hammered it. I said I was surprised to see you still next to me after the punch! lol. He even let me drive it around the parking lot to feel the clutch pressure. He says’ “Go ahead, slip the clutch. See if there’s any chatter”. None at all, the pressure feels like a stock clutch.
He was a super nice guy. Great experience.
I want to get behind a aussie clutch to see how it feels.
The ram is on/off, I like it, but I liked it alot more when I did alot less in-town driving.
u're car is a beast for sure!
Thanks Kirk!
yeah, his car weighs 32-3300 lbs. My RACE weight is 3700
So I'm sure I'm near/over 3900 lbs street weight.
