Default Plasma cutters, brand, where to buy, etc.?

Looking into purchasing a plasma cutter in the NEAR future, maybe within the week. Anyhow, just wondering if there was any particular model, brand, etc. I should consider buying? Also, would I be better off buying it off the net or somewhere local? Looking for a quality machine, but priced right. If anyone could guide me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I would recommend a Miller. They have an awesome industrial grade plasma cutter.
If you are doing SMALL stuff, Snap-On makes one also. Get something that will last and perform with good quality.

Is there a particular model you're referring to and where would be the best place to buy one?

If you are looking at cutting car parts then get a sawzall also. I have the Miller also. It is the 220volt and is nice. The main problem with buying something other than Miller or Lincoln is that you cant walk into any welding supply and buy parts.

I have a sawzall, grinder, bandsaw, die grinder, air cut off tool, torch, etc., but I wanted to invest in a plasma cutter because I know how nice and easy they cut. I used one a few years back and was really happy with how it worked. I don't like using a torch unless I have to because of so much slag. Anyhow, where are ya'll picking up these machines? Looking for the best price. Thanks.

I would have to say miller, go to a local welding shop and let them know what your doing and they can pretty much pick-one out for you.

I would buy it off ebay, just make sure the vendor is out of state (avoid sales tax) and most of the vendors on there offer free shipping too.

Miller or Lincoln, both will work equally well.
