Hey I bought my wife a new 2005 Envoy because her car was leaking oil. Decided to keep the Probe to see if I could fix it. Fixed it for $70 so now I keep the TA in the garage and drive the Probe. Cheaper Gas too

When my V6 was "going out", I happened to have my muffler off, so it was straight 3in pipe - no cat, no muffler. Sounded like a dirt track car/stock car, but got whiny on the top end. VERY deep and throaty on the low end, probably b/c of the long section of straight pipe under the bed. I was trying to figure out why it was dieing in the grocery store parking lot so I was rapping the throttle to keep the RPMs up - basically making a shatload of noise.
A very "country" sounding guy came up and asked me what I had in it - I said a V6. He asked what kinda carbeurator it had, "umm, it's the stock throttle body". Then he told me it sounded great - much better than his old 196* camaro.
Atleast the last time it ran with a V6 it got a compliment
