Default Cold Feet! Need feedback!

So here is the problem I have. I have owned my 2000 SS for five years now. It has most of the cool mods but the problem is that it just sits in the garage. I listed it to sell it and people have emailed asking for pics. NOW I am getting cold feet about selling it. Right now in my life I never have time to drive it but I love the car. Therefore it doesn't even have 15,000 miles on it. It is paid for so I only pay insurance on it.

The problem is that once I post pics and it sells what happens later? Do most people that sell their cars end up wanting them again? I sold my Supercharged Tahoe years back and I wish I had never done it. I had a big wreck in my other Z28 years back so I guess I still deal with that fear when I drive this car.

What are your opinions?

Here are the mods. Pabon built it at MTI back a few years ago.

MTI stage II heads and C2 cam
Hooker longtube headers w/ 3inch Pabon Y pipe
Baer Eradispeeds all Around
Hal front adj shocks
Mti Lid
Ported TB
Yank 3600
Underdrive Pulley
Borla
2002 Motor w/5600 miles on it No Nos Ever
No cats
No inspection for last 3 years
No registration for last year
Mti Computer
Nitto Drag Radials in back Brand New
F1's Up front
10 spoke ss wheels
It had Nos on it back in 2000 on old motor
Wiring is still there, I guess I always thought I would put it back on
Bottle Warmer
Black leather interior
T-tops
No scratches except curb rash in right rim.
Hotchkis lca and lowering springs,Panhard, sub-frames

No way you can't sell it. I only drive my 02 SS once every 2 weeks and it only has 16 k miles. I had an 02 TA and was rear ended twice so I know the feeling.

I sold one car I never drove, and regretted it. I still missed that car for 10 years after it was gone.

Yea If I sell it for 23K I couldn't even buy another sports car for close to that later if I wanted. I am trying to talk myself into really selling it but it is really hard.

Just by posting what you did, sub consiously (sp) you dont want to sell it! Take that bitch of the market and keep it. Its not harming you by having it you are not paying anything on, and on top of that when you want to drive a sports car YOU CAN, and you wont be dring around going "damn wish i still have the camaro it would have been a nice day to drive it" I have a 2000 WS6 TA that I has been my Daily Driver for the past 5 years it has 81,000 miles on it. I just got a 1995 Forde Probe Beater to drive so I can keep the miles off the TA (and not buy $3 gas ) Trust me my uncle had a 1979 6.0 Shaker TA that he sold to his Best Friend and that guy restored it to mint condition before it was totaled. Anyway my uncle talks to me about my car every now and again saying man I wish I still had it. When you find something that you like KEEP IT! Like you said its paid for, so you have no bills on it. Its not draining $$ from you. NO Reason to sell it!! Oh and if you are afraid of driving it, I'd be more than happy to take it out every 2 weeks or so for ya and drive it around

I'm in the same situation. My car has 15,500 miles and just sits there most of the time. I have to jump it off to crank it half the time. I drove it the day before yesterday for the first time in probably three months. I know I need to sell it and invest the money better, but I can't make myself do it. Matter of fact I just keep buying **** for it. I'm pretty sure it should fall under some illness in the DSM IV.

Stop running from Brittmore and running into camerys at Senate road in your Z28 and you will be fine.

Just kidding Daniel, keep the car, and make time to drive it and have some fun. You only get to live life once, so drive the car and enjoy it while you can.

You'll never sell it for what you want out of it. Just keep it if it is paid off. Drive that sucker dude!

I sold my 94 vette just before I got married and still regret doing that (both selling the car AND getting married )

I am in the same boat with my 98 ws6 - I just don't have time for it and having a hard time justifying paying insurance because I don't even drive it but 1 or 2 times a week. My 2 year old son has really fallen in love with the car so I think I'll keep it for now.

I say hold on to it as long as its not putting you in a bind. You'll never get out what you put into the car...

Nineball - You have sold plenty of cars. Second Thoughts?

As far as fear of driving this car, Yep I can say I am scared to stomp on the pedal. I broke loose @ 50 miles an hour on my 2002 Z28 and this is what happened. Talk about no traction. See Pics Below. That motor from that car is in my SS now and bigger better exhaust too.

MTI build a mean H/C setup!

Broke 3 ribs, 9 teeth, and was caughing blood for a week.

I've bought and sold tons of cars. I think I've owned 22 so far. If I could have afforded it and had the space, I would have kept every one of them. But, I don't have any regrets selling them, because I know the next one will be better anyways. But, thats because I sell just to replace them, not just sell them and have nothing

I have really been wanting to sell my SS to buy a C5 ZO6 but I can't bring myself to making the payments again. I LOVE NOT HAVING MONTHLY PAYMENTS.

Since you are leery of driving this car you should trade me for my 2000 Z28 (stock) and $9000 cash. That way you can still have a fairly fast car, and have cash to play with!!
