Default Fastech ##s

Have a question for anybody out there.. I have heard that alot of people say that fastech's dyno reads a little bit lower numbers then others in the area.. I am not complaining about my numbers. Sean did an outstanding tune and the car feels soooooo much better and responds much much better. Some ofthe people that I told my numbers to thought that they sounded a little bit low considering my first pull was 333rwhp with only SLP induction and lid, Mac mids and Y, flowmaster catback. I am still running the stock LS1 intake also so basically I was just curious to if anybody else has heard of this..
Thanks Again Sean, car handles awesome!!!

my car put down 386/365 at fastech when sean tuned it.

I went over to RPM in lewisville where all my other dyno's have been done, just to get a comparison to see what gains i had from the cam/tune and put down 395/377.

Is your car an A4 or an M6?

I dynoed 376 at Fastech and 371 at Rpm the same day 1 1/2 HRs apart. Pretty close if you ask me. Car sat for 45 min before pull at Rpm too.

Where they corrected the same? you can get about 10hp difference from switching the correction , STD, SAE, ect.. just something to look at.

Mine went straight over to RPM ... the 35 min drive or whatever. no real cool down time. Straight on the dyno, and put down about 10more hp/tq.

But the only reason i went to Rpm was b/c all my other previous dyno's had been done there. So i wanted a comparison, soley for the purpose of seeing what i had gained from the cam.

Wasnt real happy with my Dyno #'s, but I talked to Sean about them.... He explained that if I was hung up on the numbers the way that many people are.... He could lean out my Engine and even put better than pump gas in it and get me a "Unrealistic Dyno Pull" in comparrison to the street.... but it would be bigger "Bragging" numbers.

I elected to just allow him to give it a good tune... and see what it pulls as is. I will tell you on the street I have run hard against anyone, and on a roll I pulled slightly on a S/C LS1 that "Dyno's" more then me.. at only 5PSI... If I threw the switch and allowed my psi to climb to 9.... it may have been worse.

I gave up on the Dyno bragging numbers too ! so after my retune I guess 391rwhp is not so bad for a small cam...

I think that is pretty much the same thing that Sean told me, I am not complaining about the tune or the numbers it put down, I was just curious. thanks for all the replies. I was told that Sean does some of the best tuning around and from the experience I had with him I am very pleased!!! Now all I got to do is take it to the track and see what it runs....

Oh and to answer you question... from what I have seen, yea Fastech's dyno is a little low. But I would prefer to compare my 431RWHP to anyones leaned out and preloaded 475-500.... not to mention that I will have a T-67 soon too and Sean will have to tighten up my tune some.

Come with numbers that are not so impressive and run strong... rather then come with GREAT numbers and run like a B**ch! LOL

sean himself told me and my dad that it does read usually about 10 low compared to others, said it has from the get go. My dads setup put down 418/389 at fastech and runs like a raped ape now so we were happy.

You can't worry too much about dyno numbers. When you don't make alot of peak HP, you hope the area under the curve is good. That is really what makes a good street car.

Get it to the track and then decide. Sounds like you have the right stuff to launch with and really test it out.
