Default College football wrap-up

UT/Mizzou - Wow, that was an ugly game. To play that poorly and still come away with a win either tells me Mizzou is really bad or UT is good enough to overcome their own stupidity. Or a little of both...

A&M/Baylor - Didn't watch, but 16-13 in OT?! Seriously, and I'm not trying to be a dick here, but wtf is going on in College Station? A&M is better than that, so is it a coaching issue? I have faith Coach Fran will get the program turned around, but are his coordinators up to the task?

Tech/KU - Tech did what they were supposed to do. Good job.

Iowa State/Nebraska - Good win for Nebraska, but it's amazing how far that program has fallen. To get that excited about winning against the #23 team in the country speaks volumes. They have some of the best fans in the country, and I always cheer for the Huskers...when they're not playing UT.

Michigan/Michigan State - Too bad, greenies.

Notre Dame/Purdue - Will the real Notre Dame please stand up? While you're at it, review Arizona State's game film and see how you can beat USC for TWO halves, instead of just one.

Va Tech/WVU - Will someone please beat Va Tech so that pole smoker on ABC will quit trying to convince voters that they're a better team than Texas?

I'm not going to make any bold predictions about the UT/OU game. I'm of the camp that feels like Texas SHOULD win, but I won't believe it until they prove it to me. If they do win, I hope it's a blowout, because the longer OU hangs around, the more dangerous they are. It would do my heart good to see UT take out years of frustration against OU and beat them eleventy billion to three.

UT/Mizzou - Texas took care of business in a big way without looking past the Tigers with OU on deck. UT owes OU a BIG payback next week. I think the Horns get the job done impressively.

atm - I've said it all along and no one wants to believe me, but this is a very average aggy team. If aggy fan would have realisitc expectations about their team they wouldn't be so disappointed. The ags will finish fourth in the south and 6-5.

Tech - I was somewhat unimpressed with their win over KU. I thought they would blow them out of the stadium. Maybe Tech isn't as good as I thought they were.

The Big 12 north is just horrible. No need to even comment on those teams.

USC - what can you say? No one, and I mean no one is going to beat USC. Yes, and that includes Texas.

Amazing win for the Huskers - I fully expected them to get blown out. Looks like they FINALLY turned to chapter 2 in that massive play book Callahan brought to Nebraska. I'm originally from Nebraska and have been a fan all my life, but I've been in a state of disbelief since they fired Solich after he went 9-3, claiming the program was "moving in the wrong direction". Well, the year before was 6-6 and Solich gutted the staff and then they went 9-3. Seems like the right direction to me.

As far as getting excited about beating a #23 team, I think it's more like they're excited that the offense finally got their act together on a game day - new school record for passing yards, and 10 receivers got the ball. TEN!!!! At freaking Nebraska!!!!

When the Big 12 was formed I remember very clearly a bunch of people saying that the Big 12 South would never be able to compete or catch up with the North (Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas State mostly). It's just a cycle. Wait a year or two. Or four. After all, look at OU this year. The Big 12 South is 19-5 and the big 12 North is 18-6. Two undefeated in the South, one in the North. Worst in each? Missouri in the North at 2-2 and Oklahoma in the South at 2-2. Best in each - Texas (4-0) Tech (4-0) and Nebraska (4-0).

There's LOTS of football left, and while many teams have lots of reasons to expect wins against cerrtain teams, there is NO team that can guarantee a win. Or a loss. It's football. ANYTHING can happen. ANYTHING.

You can't overlook the fact that OU just beat undefeated KState 43-21 and had zero turnovers. Stoops has made it clear in the press that he hasn't been taking non-conference games seriously. Look for OU to step up in the Big 12 games.

This team has improved by alot in the last 2 weeks. Look for a good game. I doubt it will be a blowout.

I wonder what Mack Brown is thinking right now ....oh that's right, who cares

OK, so OU beat a weak KSU team. No biggie, they just did what they were supposed to do. KSU hadn't played anyone worth a flip.

I don't know where you get that Stoops didn't take the non-conference games seriously, but lets say what you believe is true. Their record reflects that by going 1-2 in those non-conference games, which is embarrassing for the Sooners. I'm not predicting a blowout win for Texas, but IMO if OU wins it would be a big upset. I don't care if the Horns win by one point or 50 as long as they beat OU.

It's about time the Irish have a decent season! I've been a big ND fan since they beat TAMU in the Cotton Bowl back in like 94. Everybody in the house was rooting for the Ags so I decided to root for the 'Gold Team'. Been a fan ever since. LOL.
