Default WTF? MLB will make Houston open Minute Maid Park's roof.

What a bunch of mother ******* horseshit.
Did MLB not think that playing in the rain in 40° weather might give a slight advantage to Chicago, considering their players are much more often subjected to cold weather and rain?
Bud Selig is a ******* tool bag.

Another example of MLB and the media types wanting all of the mojo for the Sox. I firmly believe that there is a bias against the Astros.

Probably because MLB signed some expensive coverage contracts for those stupid blimps that float around to get aerial shots of the stadiums for commercial break intros.

******* lame!!!! We should weld the roof shut tonight and call it a structural modification

I don't see where there is an advantage either way, both teams have to play in the same conditions. What difference does it make?

That being said, if its the Astros decision in the regular season, it sould be their decision in the postseason. Like Tony said above, its gotta have something to do with $$$.

the astros rarely play in cold weather at all. they also like the roof shut to pump up the stadium.

This goes 100% agains the precident set by the MLB. They let us choose where the roof would be during the season and the playoffs, then when the World Series comes, they tell us to close it. Bud Selig can suck it.

Sounds like someone is paying for the White Sox to actually win this time.

Our fans are some of the loudest in the league. With the roof shut, it can easily reach 100dB noise levels inside. A true "home field advantage". With the roof open, only about 75dB inside.

Plus, we keep the roof shut for the majority of games, the players are used to having it shut. They typically open it during the week when the sun is out and no games are going on, to take care of the grass. Thats about it.

So, its not really "home field advantage" if they aren't playing like they normally do.....with the roof closed.

They just interviewed Mrs. Garner (coach's wife) on the radio. She also said that MLB decided to take up all the front rows of the stadium and boot all of the people that BOUGHT those box seats for the season. Even her normal seat (1st row, behind the dugout) was taken from her, she was moved about midway up that section instead.

This is GAY. I guess we'll see more Fox TV show celebrities sitting in the reserved box seats that are basically owned by the people that sit in them normally.

Idea a friend of mine had: What if George HW Bush said he wants the roof closed for security reasons?
