Question about old gas.....

Question about old gas.....

My car has been sitting in the garage for nine months. The gas is nine months old. I have not started the car in four months. The car has about a 1/4 of a tank of old gas in it. Can I throw some new 93 in the tank to "cancel" out the old gas? Is it safe to start the car w/ gas that old. I don't want to damage the engine. Any thoughts/information/opinions on this matter would be very helpful.

Ive done it before, a couple of times actually.........people told me it was fine.........just dont get on it I would say.

I have a 93 GT that I haven't cranked up in 13 months. Anyway, the tank is only an 1/8 full and when I took it to the body shop last week, they started her up. Of course I didn't know that they were starting up the car until I went to pick it up last Friday. Everything worked just fine. My intensions were to change out the gas before starting the car in order to prevent water from entering my engine, but I guess that's not a problem anymore. I'm about finished doing some of the minor body work so I'm gonna change the oil(it's probably all thick by now), change the plugs, and change out the fuel filter and then filler her up with some high octane gas plus fuel system cleaner. All that should take care of all the old crap in the car. So my guess would be that you're ok to Start Your Engines!
