Default cam break in??

should i hold the engine at 2000-2500 rpms for 30 minutes like comp says to?? LS1HOWTO.COM doesnt say to do that... they also say to adjust valves by just torqing the rocker arm bolts down to 22 lbs/ft and then 180 the motor and recheck torque.. i always set my valves... so is that method from ls1howto accurate??

Default cam break in

i followed everything from ls1howto.com car runs great no problems i didn't hold the motor at a certian rpm i don't think you need to with a roller cam but don't hold me to that, everything is great on the one i did i made my own spring compressor tool worked great alsosed some wodden dowl rods to keep lifters up also use a good 3 jaw puller to get the balancer off also would be smart to buy a longer crank bold when trying to reinstall the crank pulley it goes on hard and if you have that longer bolt you can use it to push the pulley on

doesnt need to be broke in
that 2k rpm for 30 minutes is for flat tappet cams
this is hyd. roller, no need.

thats how you tighten the rocker arms down, there is no lash to check

stop thinking old school

I drove it below 3000 RPMs when I got my cam installed for about 100 miles and my motor is fine. So what cam did you go with? Dustin said he will still stomp you at the track. I would like to check out your car one day. I hang out with Dustin alot. Maby the next time we hang out together you can stop by. Also what year is you TA?
Later Al

it's a 2001 formula. im def. old school using dials, feeler gauges and more "useless" tools for this project lol... Hell i thought "I' was Dustins only friend... LOL... I was really wanting to see if i could break into the 7's in the 1/8 without any bolt on's, my stock air lid and box, free-mods and cat back.. ran an 8.3 with me shifting at 5,000 and going easy on the take off... "was having tranny problems and it would'nt shift at any higher rpm".. o well.... i'll def. be back in the 7's now!! Dustin buy me a 12-bolt.....

p.s. bridgettes car is faster than yours Dustin!!!
