I think the Texas/USC game is going to be a high scoring game with each team having trouble stopping the other. People want to rag on Texas for giving up a lot of yards to Okie State and atm, but SC has given up a lot more yards and points than Texas has. Texas by far has the better defense though. I look for a high scoring shootout on Jan. 4 and would lean to SC, but will be cheering my heart out for the Longhorns!

Every team has there share of fans that are e.) all of the above.
Cowboys, Stars, Niners, The Raiders(seems to me the whole fan population is classless there), Bama, Razorbacks. etc.....its does go both ways. But the good fans get over shadowed by the annoying classless clowns.

As you said yourself, "you have those couple games in the season, where you get stunned"(paraphrased). Even though you might not lose, its a gut check to see where the team really is at. With texas, A&M/OSU did expose some things on the defensive side of the ball. HOWEVER! Fresno State also did expose some flaws in SC's program. I think the SC/texas game is still up for grabs, If it was last years SC, i would side with SC. But its not. And if texas loses it they still have 1 more shot at it with vy.

Don't underestimate USC. If you followed them at all last year, they "played possum" just like they are doing this year. Not bringing their 'A' game to every game. Pete Carroll is no dummy. Alittle gay, but not dumb. Especially since Texas has been ranked #2 all season, I'm sure he's been studying the tapes.

Oh I absolutely don't underestimate USC. Heck, they've won two national title in a row. Honestly I don't think Texas will beat them, but it should be a very interesting game if both teams bring their "A" game. I give a slight nod to SC, but you never know. Don't underestimate Gene Chizik and his defensive knowledge and UT's speed and talent on defense either, not to mention the will to win of VY. I think Texas will be very competitve. I also look for UT to take out their frustrations from the aggy game on CU and win BIG.

No, not at all. If USC wins I'll be the first to congratulate them. I follow college football as close as anyone and I expect a high scoring shoot out with it going down to the wire in a close one, with a slight lean to SC. Its got nothing to do with making excuses or not having confidence in UT, just honestly breaking the game down. The only way I would be surprised is if either team blows the other out or its a low scoring game.

A low scoring game can still be a good game. You're right, though, that I'd be surprised if it turned out that way. With as shitty as Texas' defense is, I don't see how it could possibly happen.

Did anybody watch the Texans game? Carr sucks.

Lol, Texas' defense if better than SC's

I think it will mainly come down to big plays, coaching, experience, turnovers, and special teams play.

Here is my breakdown:

Big play ability - Edge: Even

Coaching - Edge: USC

Experience - Edge: USC

Turnovers - Edge: Toss up

Special Teams - Edge: Texas

Home Field (Rose Bowl) - Edge: USC

Offense - Edge: USC

Defense - Edge: Texas

Special Teams - Edge: Texas

Yet they allowed 29 points by one of the worst teams in their conference.

you know the aggies, might of had a bad year this year....but their offense was still a pretty good offense. The defense was the doom of the team, wasn't able to stop anything. Same story last year.

I stand corrected.

But still, an offense is only as good as how well their defense can hold off the other team.

True, we really need our defense to step it up against Matt, Reggie and White

Well there is another problem with TU besides their run defense MMiller you mentioned Gene Chzick. USC has had no problem with him. If you remeber 2 years ago when USC started thier 33 run they played against his scheme against #6 Auburn and won 23-0. So that is no problem for the Champs. As much as I hate TU they have won out and you must respect that but I think every thing is pointing at the fact there going to run in to that wall they call USC.

I think its still pretty even for the game. Even with people thinking SC will dominate, i'm not counting texas out yet, even with the game still A MONTH AWAY.
