Pro 5.0 Shifter Just put ina Pro 5.0 shifter into my 2002 Camaro SS. Wish I hgad done it a lot sooner. The 2nd-to-3rd shift is noiw automatic instead of the notchy stock shifter feel. The install was also simple. Took me about two hours, complete with beer breaks.
I hear the B&M Ripper is just as good.
ANYTHING is better than the stock Hurst shifter.

I have the Ripper in both of my cars. I tried the 5.0 but I didn't like it at all compared to the Ripper. So out it came and I slapped the Ripper back in. The 5.0 is way better then stock, but I liked the Ripper better. Now when you get a Lou's Short Stick for the Pro 5.0 it will make it even sweeter.

pffff, the hurst is amazing compared to the REAL stock shifter 
i just swapped mine over from A4 to M6 a few months ago, and only got about a month of drive time, but i drove a buddy's 02 TA with stock hurst and it was wonderful compared to my stock shifter. a ripper is on the way after xmas though.

I moved the Lou's Short Stick from my SS stock shifter to the Pro 5.0 and like it a lot.
That coupled with brakes from Stainless Steel Brake Company makes it fun.
I live in Austin. If anyone actually wants the stock Hurst, they can have it. Otherwise, I may use it a s a machine gun target.

My stock shifter is in very good condition. I don't drag race and I don't speed shift. It is quiet ... I suspect any noise from the shifter is really transmission noise. The shifter has no means of making noise and nothing rotates in it.
Anyway, my phone is (512) 350-1940. I'll be happy to ghive it to anyone who has a need for it. Nothing wrong with it ... I just like the Pro 5.0 better.

I've had the Ripper and Pro 5.0 in my 98 Z and now have the SLP short throw with austin qwik stick and have to say I like the SLP the best!
The pro 5.0 just sat too weird in the console, the ripper was descnet, but far and away the SLP is my #1 choice
