OK, everybody stop celebrating. We've offended someone.

Get over yourselves. Some of us weren't alive in 1969, so this is our first national championship.

I almost get "TU", but when your band calls them "basses" instead of "tubas" because "tuba" has "TU" in it, that's ******* retarded. And I'm not making that up.

I have yet to post in any of these national championship threads, but I would like to take this chance now to say a big congrats to Texas, that was a HELL of a game and I was on the edge of my seat most of it! I say with no shame that I was pulling for y'all to win. The state of Texas is the greatest state in the country, A&M is to me the best university in this state, but when faced with any foreigners, I'm pullin for my home state!

As for rude fans, well thats nothing new, but it sucks that people are so life and death serious about things. Texas fans do have the right to celebrate and I dont blame them a bit. This is in no way to say that I wouldnt rub it in had the Aggies won, cuz when our time comes again I will. But I will be civil about it too, unlike some people.

The thing that I AM sick of is every time I go out seeing 20,000 people who clearly did NOT go to Texas wearing orange head to toe, Texas shirts and hats everywhere. At the mall the other day I watched a fully grown man proclaim "hook em!" and make the "hang loose" hawaii surfer sign with thumb and pniky. Not with pointer and pinky as is Texas's way. OK, its cool, they had a great season, the won the nc, im glad you're a fan. But this guy CLEARLY didnt go to Texas, much less ANY college, and he's got more orange on than they had for sale in most of the stores going "hook em" with a sign that isnt even right. Dude, you're a tool. People like this bangwagon example I find way, way, WAY worse than even the most hateful Texas fan. At least they go to, or went to the school.

I am not sick of the rivalry, nor do I think it or any of either schools traditions or word change ups are stupid, thats all part of having in my opinion the greatest rivalry in football history! My dad graduated from A&M in 1981 as I will in 2008, my mom however is a Texas grad! They are always fans of both teams except for the day after thanksgiving. This year the bet was if the Ags won, my mom had to spend a day at the drags with me and dad and if Texas won, my dad had to take my mom to see Elton John! Sucked to be dad this year! But I have faith my mom will finally be making a trip out to HRP or HMP next season! I use the example of my parnets to illistrate a couple of fun loving, civilized yet very, very spirited fans of rival schools who can poke fun at each other and give each other hell but at the same time remain tasteful about a football game.

Sorry for the long post, had to get all my thoughts in one thread. In short, congrats to Texas, you were the best team this year and should celebrate and revel in your accomplishements because you deserve to. Rude, uneducated, uncivilied fans are well, rude, uneducated and uncivilized and take away from the greatness both schools exhibt.

Wow, a whole post with out a UT or t.u.!!!

SAW EM OFF and WHOOP 08!!!

the correct way of doing the t.u. thing is lower case. I don't use t.u. very imature just like eATMe, i use texas when refering to the longhorns. Thats just me though, i'm not like some of the ravenous fans around here.

eh....most people at A&M would get pissed off at how passive i am about the rivalry. but i still stick my 2 cents in.

most of us at UT spend all our money on tuition and recreation; not building hotrods in barns and what-not. from what I hear A&M has alot of rice out there, as well as trucks, and an SCCA-themed club... I doubt either school has more than a handfull of cars to run. Plus everyone in Austin roll-races their daddy-powered exotics... dam queers

I'd be willing to be UH grads and current students would have the quickest rides on this site.

Thats just because Houston owns all the other cities in TX

I was happy to see texas win the championship...one and only time i'll root for them. I haven't noticed too many swelled heads where I work. It was a helluva game, props to them. it'll just be that much more humiliating when a&m beats them next year

i don't really get the t.u. thing either, it's kinda lame. i'm not a twoper or passive about the whole rivalry at all, I was very much into the traditions (HHH crew chief), but I don't say t.u. anymore.

You obviously dont understand what happened, lol i wouldnt like Mack either after what happened. Too bad, guess he'll have to go to USC, or wait Florida wants him too. He decides tommorow but from what ive talked to him he likes USC better though. You should of heard him watching the game, boy was he angry, lol.

Are we talking current students at A&M and UT, and all other schools (fastest car)? Or just people that went to said schools...I'm not sure what people have as far as current cars at other schools but i KNOW our SCCA based club is bigger than any other school in texas...I'm pretty sure it's the biggest in the country for that matter. We tend to represent the fast DRIVERS for the state at the national level as well. However like i said, not sure what other schools have.

The funniest **** is the thread starter doesnt even go to aTm.

I was shocked to hear many Aggies root against UT in the big game, I know I would have rooted on aTm if it was them vs. USC. I ignore most of the b.s. from both sides, but it seems as though most Aggies have a chip on their shoulder about UT.

Oh well, the Horns are number 1 and there arent many times an alumni gets to say that.

OK, so being an Aggie I thought I would explain the whole "TU" deal. ATM was founded in 1876 as the official school of Texas, but some people in Austin wanted a school closer (maybe they didn't like trains). So, in 1881, UT was founded. Therefore ATM came first and was the "official" school of Texas so UT is just a Texas University, not The University of Texas.
As far as UT winning, good job. But from what I have heard the Ref's may have given you the game, I don't know I didn't watch it.
And for the record I'm a Bruins fan, so I wasn't cheering USC on or anything.

Nah man, UT won that one, ref's didnt give em ****. Vince was down sure as hell on that one play, but come on they were gunna score either way. thanks Pip, many more Ag's were pullin for UT, in the back of thier minds at least, than those who werent. Cant speak for all of us but as I said in my 1st post, got to stick with the home state at least. The **** talk I love, I'll talk **** all night long about Texas, but its the uncilvilized, *******, nothing to base anything retardednes that bugs me.

tonight, something something Ut won congrats to em, live it up y'll we're gunna have somethin for ya next year I hope!

Gig em y'all!!
