Insiders saying.....
On ABC pregame they said that Vince Young told the Houston Texans that he will probably go to the NFL. Hope UT has somebody waiting in the background to step up big time.

texas always will have someone to follow up behind a previous QB, i remember the mention of another scholarship QB in the pipeline @ texas, as well as Jason Snead (I hate Stephenville) will be coming to play for texas next year, and if anyone follows stephenville football, they have a great QB pipeline.

Texas is talented, but inexperienced at QB. If VY leaves, which is 50-50, the battle will come down to Colt McCoy, Jevan Snead, and Sherrod Harris, in that order.
If VY comes back he's obviously the Heisman front runner, Texas will be pre-season #1 and favored to repeat as national champions. Without VY Texas will be a pre-season top ten team and will probably lose a game or two out of the tOSU, OU or Tech games.

From a football standpoint, I think it makes good sense for Vince to go pro now. He's at the height of his career, he just won the national championship. If he stays at Texas, yes he can get a Heisman and win another NC but these wont make him any more valuable a NFL player than he will be if he goes pro now. But if he stays in school and gets hurt, he's messed up his chances of gettin a big money contract in the pros.
That said, if I were Vince Young, I would prolly play for Texas next year.

It's going to **** off a lot of Houstonians if the Titans end up drafting Young. Watching what many still consider "the ex-Oilers" get Houston's currently most famous product will be hard to swallow. However, that wouldn't be bad for him, since he would get to learn from Steve McNair, who is like a father to him.
In related news, Chris Simms still sucks.

I was going to be pissed if he went to his first playoffs and didn't choke, but I am seeing the simms that I was used to watching.

I don't understand why a lot of people seem to hate on Simms. He had a good college career at Texas and is starting to do pretty well for the Bucs. I would have preferred to have had Major start his senior year over Simms, but thats not reason for me not to like him. Simms was always a good sport and a classy person while he was at UT considering all of the grief he caught.

Major Applewhite DESERVED to be the starter his entire time at UT. His Freshman year he set a few Big 12 passing records. Then this kid comes in and magically takes his job? I don't think so. That's called 'I got to play cause my Daddy won a Super Bowl and made a contribution to the school'. Total bullshit.
