Just be ultra careful and baby that throttle... which is hard to do!

I work w/ a guy who completely tore his knee up on an R1 when he laid it down....becareful. I heard someone once say that 1 of 2 things is guaranteed to happen to a bike, it'll either get laid down or stolen. Both would suck...

I love the bike. I only have like 250 miles on it right now though. Weather has been sucking and I've been doing a lot of work and Marines lately not to mention school as well. This weekend I'm taking my Motorcycle course in magnolia. Get my license monday hopefully and then I'll be able to go out more on it and not worry so much about not having a license. Other than that the bike is nice. I went on ebay and got a fender eliminator for like 30bucks and some small led bolts that I'm putting on the plate itself to act as turn signals

Heck I just got mine home here in WI. 06 R6
Parts on or will be ordered.
tinted DB
Frame and clutch sliders, don't have swing arm ones yet
Flushies
Fender eliminator kit, just going to intergrate the back light and put a lic plate back there
and then I will drive it for a while and see what other little things are out there for the bike.

As for picking up the bike and using what I know from my car has been a great deal. The fluidness that I have with my clutch on my car I use on my bike so that I don't go out of control from a start. also same with my throttle control.
Its like throwing a little ricer in a z06 he'll probably kill himself cuz he doesn't understand the fundamentals of throttle control. Mash the gas and go is not what you do all the time.
I do understand what you say about "That mindset" but you have to understand not everyone is all about jumping onto a bike and being a gp racer the first day. Hell I don't go past 7k rpms on my bike right now. I started out on a 5.0 mustang when I was 16 then moved to a Trans am a year later. I'm 23 now with some experience under my belt. Been a Marine for 5 years, been to war, driven so many freaking types of vehicles, fired all sorts of weapons. I've always respected my vehicles and the power that comes along with it as well as everything else. Like I've told a friend before. I'm not all about trying to show off and do wheelies.

Congrats on getting your license and the MSF course!
You'll have fun with the driving portion. If you already know how to use throttle/clutch, then you'll be further along than most of the people there. Don't forget, you can sav elike 10% on insurance with proof of completion of the course. Its not a huge amount, but every little bit helps.
Get us some pics!

PS- Thats my orange bike in daniel's picture. Its mostly black now, though. Waiting on Parker's gay *** to send me the pictures
