BTW, a ttop conversion uses the same parts from a ttop car. I didnt have leaks in my Formula nor the ones I made. Flexing? It would be the same as a Factory ttop car so subframe connecters are ur decision.

i'm not going to vote because i don't know how hard the conversion is...but either way...i LOVE the t-tops on my bird. in fact i don't drive it unless i know i won't need to put the tops on :p I'm not a big convertible fan, so i love the compromise.

Yeah, my AC doesn't work, so t-tops would be nice during the summer down here. Haha. How much does the t-top conversion kit (parts) cost?

Dude, trust me. Hard top cars are built with a "ttop body" built in. Unless u do a Targa top then SFC will be necessary.
Well either way, SFC are a good thing anyway.

Parts with labor was usually about $500 for the ones I made.

i think charging $350 for labor is a little steep from the writeups ive seen. nothing too technical about it. you make the cuts short of the gutters in order to build the gutter fully to the window, there is a pipe ending inside of the one you cut off that is used for the apillar. i think you have to form that a little bit

Leave the hard tops alone, not too many of them out there,

Soo, either deal with it or buy one with t-tops. Just my $.02

Peace,
Craig.

Really? I would think that t-tops would be more rare than hardtops. Interesting.

This is one I just found right away on a search engine. There are plenty of How-to's out there just search.

http://members.fortunecity.com/gripe...onversion.html

It only takes me about 6 hours to complete but anyways...

I dont see what difference it makes to keep the hardtop since people say they are rare. Its not like anyone else is going to be affected, not our cars anyway. It would be like me saying, keep the motor stock or the wheels stock.

It is rare for LT1's to have t-tops, but chrysler kid has an LS1. Most LS1's seem to have t-tops, well except LS1 Formula's. They are about 50/50 from what I've seen.

Peace,
Craig.

Very true, I'd leave it alone. Best having a hardtop around for serious drag

ya iwas thinkign about doing the ttop conversion as well. but i think im going to stay with the hardtop. BUT if you ahve to have them. i would personally do the conversion. isntead of having to deal with findinganother car. sell yours. pay taxes for the new car.etc, too much of a hassle IMO.

Ok somebody brought this thread back from the dead by voting on it. So I closed the poll, I think it was pretty much decided already.

But I'll leave the thread open for discussion.

Peace,
Craig.
